Hi Everyone.
Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great sketch for us:
It took me a while to work out what I wanted to do with that circle. I was staring at the sketch on my craft desk when I noticed a piece of patterned paper that had been sitting there since I made my last card. Once I saw what was on the paper, I realized that I had the perfect stamp and die for it 🙂
Here's the paper:
Yep… .coffee beans! So the vertical element was sorted and the circle element was a no brainer. I stamped and colored the cup to match the colors of the paper. In the photo it looks more yellow, but in real life the coffee cup is much more golden. I decided to add a little fun to the circle element and added a wobbler behind it. I used a mini wobbler and it still lies pretty flat in the envelope. I also mounted the sentiment layer on some brown fun foam.
Here's a look at the wobbler:
Here's my full card:
I embossed the sentiment and the pattern on the cappuccino with white embossing powder. I mounted the front to a kraft base and did a little decorating and stamping on the inside.
the second part of the sentiment is from a Casual Friday set. There are some fabulous sentiments in that set and I can't wait to use them on some cards! I hope you will join us and play along. As usual, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Still waiting for some decent rain and some consistent temperatures, but the little bits of green popping up are spreading 🙂
I love this time of the year over the wetland. We have had some spectacular sunrises but the one yesterday morning forced me to get out of bed and try to capture a photo of it. Even the photo cannot do justice to how intensely fire red the sunrise was. It lit up the entire wetland and the puddles of water reflected that intense red. It really was worth getting up REALLY early yesterday morning. The intensity didn't last more than a few minutes, but the sunrise was beautiful none the less.
Isn't that amazing? It really was astonishingly beautiful.
I'm hoping to get into my craft room between homework for my on-line classes. If I do, I will be back later in the week with some more cards and, hopefully some nature photos! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Fun card..I can think of alot of people to send this one to! Love the embossed sentiment!
I’m probably imagining it, but it looks like there are faces on all those little coffee beans. What a great choice of image for the sketch. Pretty card and fun sentiment!
Love your card Jaydee! Coffee cards are so much fun and relay a “hug in a mug” kinda vibe!
Your sunrise is spectacular! A perfect way to start your day. I’m inspired to try some distress inks to try to create that one on a card! 😉
Love your little wobbly coffee cup….reminding me I need my second cup today! Wonderful texture and pattern for your background too! And, of course, a beauty of a sunrise!
Great how that little piece of paper unlocked the whole of your card Jaydee. I love the wobbly coffee cup and you can’t beat a punny sentiment! Gorgeous sunrise too.
I love your coffee cup on the wobbler! I haven’t used a wobbler, and must give it a try now that you have inspired me. The beans, colors and sentiment are perfect!
As a coffee-over, this card just makes me smile! Those sentiments are just too cute. I really like the added detail from using the wobbler, s well. Just an all around fun card!
What a fun card, Jaydee! The “wobbler” is such a neat idea. I love all the texture, and the fabulous coffeebean paper. The inside is too cute and will definitely bring a smile to the recipient’s face.
Jaydee, I never met a cup of coffee or a coffee card that I didn’t like. Love those coffee beans on the DSP and that wobbly cup! SMILE! You certainly made my challenge shine! But, then again, nothing outshines that sunrise! GORGEOUS! Have a fabulous weekend, My Friend ! XX
