Snowy Day on the Farm for Paper Players #425

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a theme for us:

I decided to have a little fun with this theme and use some new goodies that I got before Christmas. I think I discovered them on Jennifer McGuire's "sale" post.  Anyway, there was an image of a barn on their website and I loved it.  Then I found some other little bits and pieces that went with it.  Before I knew it, I had about 10 stamps in my basket!

As this is a Clean and Simple challenge, I went with just two layers.  Well, the whole card is one layer, it's just the farm animals that were die cut and mounted onto the base that make it a second layer.  These little chickens are the cutest things!

As the theme is "snowy day" I used some white ink splatters to convey that it was snowing.  It's hard to see in the photographs, but if you look at the barn, you can see where the snow is falling in front of the door.

I also added some white gel pen to the very edges of each of the trees for a little additional texture and a feeling of snow.

Here's my card:

Snowy day PP425 (1 of 1)-2

Aren't this little chicks just so ADORABLE!   I rarely create "scene" cards.  Frankly, I am just not good at them.  I always admire people who can create scene cards.

I hope you will play along with us and share your "snowy day" cards.   As usual, if you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the creations of our amazing design team:

On a personal note:

It was -7 when we woke up this morning.  Brrrrrr…. seriously!  The sun is shining at least.  So, no outdoor activities for me today – hopefully I can get down into my craft room and make some cards.  If I do manage to do that, then I will be back later in the week with some more cards for you.

In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee

  2. I love your little scene Jaydee – so sweet! It snowed here in the UK for the first time today and my chickens would definitely like to borrow those hats and scarfs – they are not fans of the snow!

  3. Claire, I didn’t know you grew up on a farm. How awesome… The red barn is just so quintessentially American and I love it!
