It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great theme for use:
Oh… I had so many ideas for this.. but in the end settled for an old stamp set that I have had in my stash for several years. It's an old set from Fun Stampers Journey and has these cute little birds in it. As I needed to make a "thanks for taking me away" card for Lou, I thought it would be perfect to use them for this card.
Lou's favorite color is Celeste Green. Know, most of you have probably never heard of it – I hadn't until I met Lou. But celeste green is the color used to make the only bike that Lou will ride. So, I decided to try to make a card with a color as close to that as I could.
I began with a white card base and added a layer of the new Altenew very wide washi tape. It's wide enough to cover a 4 and a quarter inch card base! I adhered a piece to the card base and then colored it with a BG copic marker to give a messy, distressed look to it. I then stamped the birds onto a piece of Neenah Solar White #80 paper and colored them with my copics. I die-cut the birds, adhered them to rectangle stitched frame layer and drew in the wire for their little feet.
Lou says glitter does not belong on a masculine card :-) So, I added some in the form a red glimmer pen on the wings of the birds. Here's a closeup.
You can see I also added a little dot of black irresistibles for the eyes, too.
I added a little enamel heart to make it look as though they were feeding each other and even managed to find one that matched the overall color scheme!

Oh Jaydee, this is so “TWEET”! I love this color, too! Lou will cherish this precious card– Especially with you being the bird lover that you are! That washi tape is fantastic for the background. The loose coloring adds so much dimension! I hope you have a fantastic week, My Friend! XX

I LOVE those little birds! The detail of your colouring, glitter and all, is fabulous. This wide washi tape looks a great product -until I read your post, I was engaged in a bit of envy over the lovely DSP you’d found! I think this is just so pretty without being sweet and OTT.
What a ‘tweet’ card of the 2 love birds. Beautiful color as well.

Cute little birds, Jaydee! I love the simple outline shape of them. Celeste Green is not a color I’ve heard of so thanks for enlightening me. And I hope Lou approves of the shimmery wings 🙂
Adorable love birds and I think the little bit of glitter on the wings is A-OK! I had not heard of Celeste Green either so had to look it up! The images that came up were of bicycles and I have to agree with your hubby – it’s a beautiful color! Hope you’re having a great week ~ Hugs, Annie
Adorable card, Jaydee! Love your color combination and the sweet details in the glitter and puffy heart. Fun polka dot background too!!
