Hi Everyone.
Happy Monday and greetings from Minnesota where it is currently…. wait for it….. 70 degrees!!!! It has been a glorious day!
I have a couple of cards that I made for the Altenew Parents Card drive. One of my favorite ever sets from Stampin' Up! is Wetlands. Although it is retired, it is one of the sets that will stay in my collection forever 🙂
I decided to use it and make a couple of simple Father's Day cards. I used some old card stock from my stash to add a little color to the bases. I made sure to check the colors with Lou to ensure that he thought they were masculine enough 🙂
Here's the first of the cards:
I realized I didn't have a Happy Father's Day sentiment, so I had to type one up in Pages and print them out.
Here's the second card:
I love the bright blue background and you can see that I changed the font for the sentiment on this card.
Here's the final one using this set:
I love this pale grey, textured background and I also love that every time I look at this card it reminds me of the geese that visit our feeders every day. yesterday there was a stand-off at the feeder with the Canadian Goose and the Sandhill Crane. Goose won 🙂
Talking about Sandhill Cranes – how about a photo of this beautiful guy. I am in love with this photo.
Isn't that a gorgeous face? The coloring on his face is amazing and his body color just blends into the wetland grasses at this time of year. I was on a conference call yesterday in the middle of presenting and I had the deck door open. Suddenly the Sandhill Crane decided it was time to try to attract a mate and began his very distinctive – and loud – call. If you haven't heard his call – you can hear it here. Well, as you can imagine, there was a lot of commentary during my presentation about the interesting sound effects I had included 🙂
I'll be back with some more Father's Day cards tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Enjoy your day and have a great evening
Hi Jaydee! I’m late to the party but just had to comment on your gorgeous cards and photo! I agree with you about the Wetlands set from SU. It’s an all time favorite of mine as well and I use the plover (not sure what the birdie is really but I like to think of them as plovers) image the most. You really made a lovely set of cards here and the dads will enjoy them all.
Your crane picture is stunning! Wow Jaydee, those eyes! And I just love the how the colors pop against the dried grasses in the wetland. You could frame this one, it’s perfection. And his face…you’ve captured the most intriguing look. I just love it!
