Spring Daisy for Paper Players #364

Hi Everyone.   Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a theme for us:

I love the badge that Nance created – again!  What a gorgeous autumnal display!   I know this is "Autumn Florals", and that the stamp I used is called "Spring Daisy"….. but I decided to go with a fall color scheme for my Spring Daisy 🙂

I've done so much coloring recently, that I wanted to just do something simple and the Spring Daisy is perfect for that.

I created my own background by repeatedly stamping the outline image from one of the Spring Daisy flowers and stamped the centers in a pale yellow.  I then re-stamped the image and used a darker yellow for the color inside the outline.  To finish off the flower I added some Novo glitter drops to the center of the flower.

Here's a closeup of the main flower:

The glitter drops look really pretty in real life, but are pretty hard to photograph 🙂

I love the soft yellows and oranges and thought they would work perfectly and thought the sentiment was perfect for a profusion of flowers!

Here's my full card:

Instead of my normal Neenah Solar White base, I used a vanilla – I thought it was a softer look with the colors.  I finished off the card with a few drops of Novo glitter and mounted my sentiment layer to the base and popped up my focal flower on foam tape.

I hope you will join us and play along this week.  If you are looking for some inspiration – our design team have some fabulous creations for you:

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. I love your stamped background! It looks so warm, inviting and happy! It’s a great ground for your bright daisy and that centre …it’s amazing! It’s a great card, Jaydee.

  2. Fabulous way to show alternate uses for your supplies, Jaydee! Just a simple change of colors turned this spring flower into a beautiful autumn spread. Love the glitter interspersed in your layout. Fabulous card, my friend!

  3. Love the daisy card, Jaydee, with the pretty stamped background and popped up flower. Enjoy your day!

  4. A spring daisy it might be Jaydee, but your warm yellow and orangw colour scheme bring this card right into autumn. Love that repeating background – what a fabulous card with relatively few supplies. Gorgeous glittery flower centre too!

  5. Love the stamped back ground and you changing your daisy into an autumn daisy. Such a clever idea and makes for a very lovely card. Really like the bit of sparkle you have added as well. Sets the card off nicely.
    Great job Jaydee.
Enjoy the remainder of the week.
Thoughts and prayers to all those in the Las Vegas shooting. In such shock when I first heard about it. Feeling numb on why anyone would do such a terrible act.

  6. Jaydee this is so beautiful. I love how you created a background by repeating an image, then used the same image for the focal point. What a focal point it is with the amazing glittery center; it almost looks like a piece of jewelry. Stunning card, my friend.

  7. Wonderful background, Jaydee! I really like how you used a spring flower and made it work for fall beautifully. Hope you’re having a great week!
