Monique loves Macarons and Blog Candy Week 1

Hi Everyone.  Happy Monday.

What is better than a super sweet card?  Oh, yeah!  A super sweet card when it is accompanied by blog candy!   Sweet.  Candy.  Get it?  Of course you do!

As blog candy is on offer, I decided to sweeten the deal with a handmade card by moi!   I decided to pull out one of my new favorite stamps – Monique loves Macarons from Stamping Bella.   I just love this image and I mixed it with a sentiment from Your Next Stamps.

Not only did I color Miss Monique, but I also put her on a wobbler…. so, she and her mountain of macarons do a whole lot of jiggling.   🙂 I colored the macarons using colors on the background DSP.

Here's Monique:

The gooey-gooey stuff on the macarons is actually Distress Glitter.   However, it isn't as shiny as it should be because I didn't use my normal Glossy Accents!

Now that we have seen the card that will accompany the Blog Candy – I supposed you want to see the Blog Candy, too!

Well… it's a corker of a prize.  A brand new – never used – still in the packet – never opened – Altenew stamp set!   It's the new Crafty Friends Stamp set and I thought it made a perfect blog candy for all my crafty bloggy friends to try to win.

I am sure there are many friends you can think of to send a card made with this amazing set.

Now… what do you have to do to win it.  Well, you have to participate 🙂  But participation is easy.

Here's how it works.

Leave a comment on this post answering the following question.

Question:   Jaydee is researching her ancestry on ancestry.co.uk.  She was looking up her great-great-grandmother.   How many other family trees – other than hers- does this womans name appear in?

BTW:  I don't normally refer to myself in the third person, but it just seemed easier to pose the question that way 🙂

The person nearest the correct number will win the blog candy.  Oh, and you can enter as many guesses as you like – so long as they are on separate comments.   Hint:  It's more than a thousand 🙂  Why separate comments?  because it makes it fairer when I use the automated tool to pull up a winner.

I plan to have 3 more blog draws in the next few weeks where I will be sharing a few of my favorite stamping things. All while having a little fun.

I hope you will play along and join in the fun.  All it takes is to guess a number – and leave a comment!

On a personal note:

Charlie is back to normal.  He was running around like a mad thing and demanding that I play games with him.  he's bright eyed and bushy tailed and it is totally wonderful to have him back.  We finally got to the bottom of his ailments and found that the thing he was being treated for was actually a subsequent infection from something he wasn't being treated for.   The problem with him is that it is impossible to examine him without sedation and the vet wants to do as little sedation as possible with Charlie as we found he has an abnormally slow heart rate under anesthesia.  So… limited sedation is recommended.  So, it's trial and error.   But… it is wonderful to have the little guy back!

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.   In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight – and those in the path of Hurricane Maria.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Jaydee, so happy to hear the news about Charlie! Glad he’s back to his normal handsome self!
Your card is adorable and I love the towering macaroons! The fluffy stuff coming out and the speckles in the background give so much interest. I’ve never tasted a macaroon, I’d love to some day. ; )
Your grandmother’s family tree sounds very interesting. My guess is 1400. Wow, amazing it’s over 1000! I like the little twig in this stamp set and the wonderful sentiments.

  2. Sweet and lovely card. Macaroons look good enough to eat.
What a great stamp set and wonderful giveaway.
    Thank you for this opportunity.
I’m going big here on my guess and will say 12,650. It just seems like it could be a popular name in the UK)

  3. What a cute card Jaydee, I bet it’s so much fun IRL with its sparkle and wobble. Glad to hear Charlie is feeling better, too. OK must play along and take a guess: 1150. Enjoy your research!

  4. Also glad Charlie is back to his normal self. I so enjoy your cards, your reports on your fauna and feathered friends, and your blessing to us all. My estimate is going to be high, no doubt – it depends upon how large a family it started with – but I’m going to estimate 18,000. It is adding up quickly in my family!

  5. How could I have missed this post??? I read your blog every day . . . anyway, here goes my guess . . . . 2 999 999
