Extra Special for the Paper Players #344

Hi Everyone

It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a color challenge for us:

Now, I have to admit….. this was a tough challenge for me.  The one thing that I have realized over the years is that I am not a primary colors sort of gal!   I love them… but I just don't use them.  So, it took me a while to come up with something that would fit this challenge.  It was the orange and red that was tripping me up.  Now, my esteemed design team members have helped to show you how great this combo of colors is… so, it's not the colors per se – it's just my preference 🙂

I thought that the colors required florals.  To that end, I used the Extra Special Stamp Set from Altenew for my floral element.

Ppcolors (1 of 1)-7

I decided to combine the orange and red together on the flowers and then add the pops of turquoise in the middle of them.  Now…. as an engineer, I have a problem with non-realism…. and I am trying to force myself to think more creatively.   So, adding turquoise centers to the flowers might go against everything that nature does – but I needed to do it so that I could meet the challenge requirements.  And… hey… it's my little fantasy world and if flowers have turquoise centers… it's OK.  After all, that is what creativity is all about, isn't it?

I hope you will join us this week and play along.  As usual, if you are looking for inspiration, you have to look no further than our amazing design team.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. LOL….I call it artistic license, when you make things whatever color your want, even if it doesn’t match real life!!! I love your flowers, too…a brilliant way to incorporate that Tempting Turquoise into the mix!

  2. I agree with you about primary colors, Jaydee, so this was a whopper! Love how we both had the idea to combine the two colors on flowers and your blooms are beautiful here. Love the placement how they are falling down the card. Turquoise centers are gorgeous!!

  3. Love your beautiful blended blooms Jaydee – so dainty and pretty and I think when you’re the artist you can colour things however you like, blue centres and all! Fab sentiment too – guaranteed to bring a smile to the recipient’s face and perfect for a self-esteem boost!
