Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday. Don't know about you all, but I am so looking forward to the weekend and it is shaping up to be a WONDERFUL weekend weather wise. It's going to get into the 70s! Yes… Oh boy… and if we have some rain, then things should start greening up really soon 🙂
I got the chance to play along with the Less is More challenge this week.
ETA: I was also told about the AAAcards challenge which is Shiny spring… look at this wonderful badge and how bright and sunny it is! So, I will be adding my card across at AAA this week as well.
I thought about the three pastels and realized that I could use the Novo pastels that I received in my Simon Says Stamp card kit last month – as well as the Egg stencil that was also in the kit.
Here is closeup of those gorgeous Novo mousse pastels. I love how easily they apply and they are a breeze with a stencil. When you turn the card in the light, it catches all of that lovely shimmer and shine.

I decorated the inside very simply:
The card is clean and simple and easy to put together. The longest part of the process was the drying time for the mousse – and even that didn't take too long. I mounted the panel on an opalescent - pearl colored layer – matches well with one of the colors in the egg and popped the sentiment up on a little foam tape.
On a personal note:
I wanted to share a couple more photographs from our Caribbean trip. I couldn't believe it when I saw this guy flying high above us when we were tendered at Guadeloupe. It's been nearly 30 years since I last saw one of these guys – and that was off a little island called Cousine in the Seychelles. Then the island was a pristine paradise with no buildings on it. Seems that they have built a hotel since then – but hopefully they have managed to keep some of the paradise feel of it!
This particular bird is amazing. They have a wingspan of 88 inches… yes… 88 inches – and their wings are incredibly narrow and make it an incredibly agile bird. One of the other amazing things about it – it spends almost all of it's life airborne. Even though it spends a lot of time at sea, unlike gulls and other birds, it never lands on water. I can't tell you how happy it made me to see several of them flying overhead – it was incredibly hard to catch a photo of them
I share this particular photo with you – only because I wanted to show you just how narrow and angled their wings are… I promise the photo that comes after it is much better 🙂
The wings are really narrow with a very sharp elbow – and the tail is long and forked. Here is a better – clearer photo
What makes them even more amazing is what the males do to attract females during breeding season. I didn't have a photo of my own – so am sending you to the allaboutbirds website to take a look – as they have a great shot out there - and I do encourage you to check it out.
I'll leave you with a photo of the sky and the reflection on the water as we were sailing away from Guadeloupe. Lou and I sat on our balcony with a glass in hand (white wine for me – water for Lou) and toasted a wonderful day in paradise.

This is such a gorgeous card! I too love the Nuvo mousses and these are really pretty soft colours and with that lovely sheen to them <3 A very classy and elegant design! Wow to the bird too. Beautiful card. Love the softness look of it plus it’s clean and simple which makes it nice for mass production.
Can’t believe that it is almost Easter and here I still have my calendar in my craft room still on Feb.

If you would like to see these birds a little closer to home try the Florida Keys. Fishermen look for these birds when fishing offshore because they are usually indicators of fish below – often mahi-mahi.
