You Make Me Happy for Addicted to CAS Birthday Celebration

Hi Everyone.

It's my pleasure to host the Addicted to CAS challenge this week and we are celebrating our 4th Birthday celebrations.  This is an amazing milestone for our fabulous challenge creator – and stamp store owner – Kylie.   Congratulations Kylie and thank you so much for having me along for this wonderful ride.  As this is such a momentous occasion, I chose a very fitting code word for the challenge this week 🙂

As this is a major milestone for us, we are lucky enough to have multiple sponsors that are helping us celebrate – and offering up – wonderful prizes to our winners.

To help us celebrate, we also have a very talented Guest Designer – Emily Shroom this week and I hope you will pop along to her blog and give her a little blog love.

Now… on to my card.  I really did want to keep it clean and simple with a minimum of color and images.    I received the the "You Make Me Happy" mini stamp free for Altenew with a recent purchase and decided to use the flower from that stamp set – along with the sentiment.

I inked up the flower and stamped it twice with versamark onto Neenah Solar White card stock.  I heat set it with gold embossing powder.  I dampened my Kuretake Metallic watercolor paints and dabbed just a little on the inside of the flowers.  It gives a lovely shimmer to it when you move the card in the light.

I stamped the sentiment between the two flowers and die-cut it with the stitched rectangle die and mounted it on some craft foam and then onto my card base.

Here's my card:

I hope you will play along with us and help us celebrate our 4th anniversary.  If you are looking for some inspiration, you can check out the fabulous cards from our amazingly talented design team.

On a personal note:

Lou and I spent time yesterday putting up the decorations inside the house – and outside.   We aren't quite finished yet, but we are getting there!

It was sleeting when I took this photo last night – and the Bokkeh effect is, in fact, drops of sleet on the camera lens – but it still looks so pretty.   We need to fix the lights on the little trees on the porch as they look a little odd!  Otherwise, it really is starting to look a lot like Christmas

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs
Jaydee
