Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday.
I have a fall card to share with you tonight. I used the fabulous inspiration photo from JustUsGirls and the really unusual sketch from Casethissketch
The minute I saw the inspiration photo I thought it would work really well for the Altenew Spring Daisy stamp set. For the sketch, I realized that I could use the nested shape embossing technique. So pulled out my stitched squares, nested them together and then embossed them onto my card base. In order to make the flowers work, I needed to turn the sketch on it's side.
Here are the challenges:
I hope you will join the challenges this week and, if you are looking for some inspiration, pop along to the design team and submission cards. Lots of wonderful inspiration there for you.
On a personal note:
OK. That's it. I'm leaving! It's so cold today – and still raining – that I have been shivering all day. I swear it is only a couple of weeks ago since the start of summer. I NEED MORE SUMMER DAYS! I am SO not ready for these cold days and cold nights. The fact that we went from temps in the 90s down to the 60s so quickly has meant that more body hasn't had time to adjust. I suffer from hypothyroidism and my thyroid levels must be off, because I just can't get warm :-) I see a move to a warmer climate in my future. Like next week. Nah.. that means I would have to give up my woodland/wetland and I'm not ready to do that just yet 🙂
I caught the squirrel resting on one of the mushrooms growing on our "stump". Those mushrooms are pretty large and easily accommodate a resting squirrel.
The feeders continue to be a hive of activity – especially now that the weather is getting colder.
Mind you, the flowers and grasses that we planted are providing lots of seeds for the birds. They love sitting on the grasses and running their beaks down the grass to capture the seeds and perching on the echinacea and pecking out the seeds. It's wonderful to see the garden coming to live and doing exactly what we had planned that it would do – provide food and shelter for the animals.
I'll be back later in the week with another card and a couple more photos. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight. And… congratulations to the new Great-Grandma in our midst 🙂
Hugs
jaydee

Beautiful card! I love your outdoors and am always envious! I, too, suffer from hypothyroidism. Interestingly, however, I am always hot. I never cool down. Was in Mammoth Lakes last week where it was cool (okay, some days cold) and I loved it. Coming back to 95 degrees did not make this girl happy! Thanks for sharing your talent and nature. 😊
Jaydee,
I love going to your blog for the cards but also for the photos of the birds and animals that frequent your woodland/wetland. Those pictures you take are wonderful and makes me happy. Thank you.
Such a Beautiful card and uniquely different. Love the embossed design. The little touch of gold really makes it stand out and makes for great addition to your card.
That squirrel looks like it’s ready to make a big leap towards a feeder :}Great photo; not only of the squirrel but the rest of the photos as well.
Last week we where hitting 100 deg. and this week, well much cooler; in the 60’s :}
Have a great day and an enjoyable evening
Oh WOW! Jaydee this is awesome. Love the flowers and the nested dies – great effect. Thanks for sharing those photos. Lovely to see you at JUGS this week.
Those embossed squares are wonderful behind your gorgeous daisies, Jaydee. I’m so glad you shared your card at Just Us Girls this week.
Very pretty. Love the flowers and those embossed squares are a great touch. TFS
Wow, beautiful take on the sketch Jaydee!

I love how you’ve used the sketch as the background, Jaydee! I always love your photos, too. That squirrel is too cute!
