Hello Friend for Addicted to CAS Challenge #90

HI Everyone

Happy Saturday.  I am VERY late with my Addicted to CAS card this week.   It's been a really heavy week at work and I just flaked and forgot that last night was the night I needed to load my challenge card.    I don't think I've ever done that before!  It was only whilst we were out and about this morning that it hit me.    So, I am typing up this post late on Saturday afternoon.

It's the fabulous Susan's turn to host our challenge this week and she has a really summery sounding code word for us:

Our winner this week will win a $10 shopping voucher from our amazing sponsor:

When I read the code word I had all sorts of ideas going around in my head of palm trees, blue skies, blue water and sunshine.  It also made me think of exotic flowers and palm trees.  In the end I went with the exotic flowers and the anglicized version of Aloha 🙂

Here's my card:

Redwhiteandblue (1 of 1)-5

I inked up my Penny Black stamp with Zig Clean Brush Markers and then spritzed the stamp with water and stamped the image onto cold pressed watercolor paper and let it dry.    All that was left to do was to stamp the sentiment, die cut the focal layer and adhere it to the card base.

If you are looking for some inspiration – you have to look no further than the fabulous cards from our design team – as well as the gorgeous card from our guest designer Monika.

On a personal note:

Grrrr… hand still bothering me, which is really making it very hard to do a lot of things, but at least I see the hand surgeon on Tuesday and am hoping that they can give me some exercises and physio to help straighten the tendons and get my fingers working again.   Luckily it's my left hand!

Thank you to all of you who have sent me emails or left me comments wishing me luck and a speedy recovery!  I really do appreciate it very much.

How about a couple of nature shots?

Our prairie flowers are coming up – looks like we have a lot of Bergamot this year.  You can see how tall it is based on the fact that the deer just about disappears.  I have no idea what she was pig rooting around for…. sadly it wasn't the invasive grasses!

Deerintheflowers (1 of 1)
You can see that I had to take this photo through the window – and through the fly screen…. and the same is true of the next photo, but I really wanted to share it with you.   We RARELY see this guy and I am always amazed when we do see him.  I cannot tell you how gorgeous the red on his head is.  It's absolutely iridescent.

Redheaded (1 of 1)

I'm hoping he comes around again so that I can take some better photos of him.   I did try another one – also out of focus – but it does give you an idea of how beautiful those red feathers are.

Redheaded closeup (1 of 1)

Isn't that a gorgeous red?  He is amazing when he flies, too.  The flashes of black and white with the red head are amazing.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.  Get well wishes for Brenda, too!

Hugs
Jaydee
