Life is a beautiful ride for Paper Players #298

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Nance's turn to host our Paper Players card this week and she has a code word that really appeals to Lou:

 
Lou doesn't get to cycle as much as he likes these days because he is on the road so much.  However, when he is home getting out on his bike is one thing he really likes to do.  It is his meditation time.  A time when he can get some exercise, clear his head and get some fresh air.
 
Lou only rides Bianchi bikes, so it was important to try to emulate the Celeste green that Bianchi is famous for and, because this card is for Lou – I really wanted to keep it clean and simple and free of embellishments. 🙂
 
Here's my take on the challenge:

I wanted to get a feel of movement on the card – and to emulate a road surface – although it looks more cobblestone than tarmac in feel :-)   So, I pulled out my Ranger stencil and some Sahara Sand ink and created the vertical stripes.
 
I used the same stencil for the inside of the card – and the envelope.  Heres's a photo of the inside and envie:

On a personal note:

It's still cold here…. but… the weatherman has promised us that it is definitely getting warmer this week and I can tell you that I am very happy about some warmer weather!

When we were walking around Haddon Hall we came across this Spinet and it dates from the first decade of the 17th century.  How amazing is that?  I was amazed that I was standing in front of a musical instrument that has been played for over 300 years.

Isn't that paneling gorgeous, too?  The spinet is at the end of the grand gallery.  Which is such a beautiful room

The grand gallery was designed to allow the women of the time to get some exercise without being affected by the sun or rain.  Keeping their complexion white and not sun-kissed was very important for the women of the 15th century.  I love the paneling on the walls and the beautiful ceiling.   The windows were fascinating, too.  this is original 15th century leaded glass – you can even see how the glass is buckling.
