Ruff Day – It must be Monday

Hi Everyone.  Happy Monday.

I hope you are all staying safe/warm/dry with this wild weather we are having right now.

My Monday started off with a wobble.  I logged on to my work PC this morning – got the blue screen of death – you windows users will know what I'm talking about! and…. the thing would not reboot after that.  So….. my work PC is in PC hospital until at least the end of day on Wednesday.  Now, considering I was out last week on education – you can imagine how much I was supposed to do this week.  UGH!

As it was a rough start to my day – I thought you might want to see another card made using the same stamp from my Paper Players card this week.   I really am so fond of this image.  :-)   Unlike my card for the Paper Players, I colored this image with watercolor inks.

Here's my card:

Ruff Day

The one thing I wish I had done with him – and think I will go back and do it – is to add back the white of his eyes with my Uniball white pen – just as I did with my Paper Players card.   I really love the Irresistibles as they add that shine and a little bit of texture to the eyes and nose.  Did you notice that I created a perfect heart shape for his nose pad?

I stamped him onto a piece of Arches watercolor paper using Archival Ink.  I then set about watercoloring his body and, when that was dry, did the background and the area that he is sitting on.   I think the water color gives his coat more texture – but… I do love the Copic colored version, too.  Either way, I think he's an adorable image and is perfect for children or adults alike.

On a personal note:

Brrrrrrr…. it's gotten cold again.  I know that Jeanne and I both love Minnesota winters, but I must admit, I am looking forward to the arrival of Spring.   I can't wait to see the return of our summer birds.  Mind you, we will lose our little Junco's as they go back North for summer.  I love watching them in winter.

I'm also looking forward to these guys returning to their bright yellow plumage.

But these little guys will be with us through winter and summer!

Well, that's all for tonight!  I will be back on Wednesday with another card for you.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
