Happy Birthday – Simon Says Stamp Big Birthday

Hi Everyone.   Happy Earth Day and a very Happy Birthday to my Bestie Pammie!

I have a birthday card to share with you tonight created using the Simon Says Stamp April card kit and the stamp Big Birthday.

I created the background by stamping the baloon multiple times in bright, primary colors and then covered each one with Crystal Accents.  I love the dimension and shine it gives to them.

It took a while for the Crystal Accents to dry, but it gave me time to cut my banner for the sentiment and I stamped it with Encore Gold Ink and gold embossing powder.   Once the base was dry, I backed the banner with fun foam to give it a little lift and then mounted it to the balloon layer.  This layer was then adhered to a Real Red base.  Of course… I had to add one last thing… and cut off the "legs" of one of the gold star brads included in the SSS card kit and glued it to the banner to finish it off

Pammie, I hope you had a wonderful day….

Happy Birthday

On a personal note:

I couldn't celebrate Earth Day without sharing some nature shots from our back yard…. it's still brown out there… but at least there are some little glimmers of hope with a few green leaves 🙂

These guys are still looking shaggy as they cast off their winter coats

Shaggy deer (1 of 1)

We are so excited that we have been able to keep these two hanging around for the full year.  We weren't able to do that the first two years we lived in the house…. and we really missed them.  Adding the arborvitae to the side of the house certainly helped.

Cardinal (1 of 1)

Not the greatest shot…. I really think I need a new camera!   but these guys are the staples of our feeders:

Woodpecker, goldfinch and chickadee (1 of 1)

Of course, we are always happy to play host to the cranes.  This year we seem to have what we believe is a female visiting us.  It's really hard to tell the females and males apart unless they are together… but this one is VERY quiet and comes and goes without a noise… so, we think it's a female.  She's welcome to come and visit anytime.

Crane (1 of 1)

I was surprised that the Junco's were still hanging around and had not migrated back north…. hmmmm.. that was until the temps dropped below freezing and we had snow, sleet and frozen rain!!!!!

Junco (1 of 1)

I'll be back with another card tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. I really like your card. I really like the crystal accents on the balloons. I will have to think of that on my future cards.
I also thoroughly enjoy your pictures. You and your husband did a lot of work to get all the animals and birds to come to your home. Keep the pictures coming!!!!!
