From our Family to Yours – for Addicted to CAS

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.

I hope you have had a great week.  Me?  I am so looking forward to the weekend!

It's the fabulous Shana's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a code word which is so appropriate for this time of year.

There are so many ways to go with this code word but, as it is so close to Christmas, I decided that this was the way I wanted to go.

I inked up one of my favorite SU Christmas stamp sets – Beauty of the Season.  My regular readers will know that I love the Cardinals in winter, consequently, I love this set:-)

I usually stamp onto Whisper White card stock, but decided to use some Soft Sky instead.  I then colored the cardinal with copic markers and added just a little touch of black enamel accents onto the eye of the cardinal.

I didn't have an appropriate sentiment, so used my word processing software to create the sentiment tying in the red from the cardinal with the sentiment.

Of course I had to use my Lil Inker stitched rectangles and circles – I really am in love with the stitched dies – they really do help to frame the focal elements.

I mounted the focal layer onto the base layer with double sided tape to add a little dimension.

Here's my card:

I hope you will join us at Addicted to CAS this week, we'd love to see what you do with this code word. Our winner this week will win 5 digis from our wonderful sponsor

The design team have create some wonderful projects for your inspiration and I hope that you will pop along to Addicted to CAS to check them out.

On a personal note:

I am so glad it is the weekend and that I have a couple of days to spend with my hubby.  He has been away for the last two weeks traveling to both Costa Rica and China with just a day at home between and it's always wonderful when we get to spend a little time together doing what we don't get to do for so much of the year – just enjoying being together and doing the normal day to day things. 🙂

I'll be back on Sunday with another project for you and am hoping that I will get to spend some time in my craft space this weekend giving some love to my new SU goodies 🙂

In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Jaydee, I love that you stamped onto cardstock that wasn’t white. I NEVER think to do that. It worked beautifully showcasing that amazing cardinal. Have a wonderful time with hubby! Merry Christmas, my friend xx

  2. Hi Jaydee. LOVE that you stamped your cardinal on soft blue … looks amazing. I never think to stamp and colour on anything but white — so clever! The cardinal is gorgeous … great colouring! Loll xx
