Rejoicing with you for Festive Friday – and we have a winner.

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday.  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families.

In this post I promised a little blog candy for the person who a) correctly guessed my new anniversary present and b) provided an answer that made me LOL.   Now, many of you had  great guesses, but only one was correct.  Mind you, you did give me some fabulous ideas of what I might want to ask Lou to buy me for Christmas and my upcoming birthday.  Before we get to blog candy though, I have a card for you.

One of my favorite sets from SU is the "Rejoicing with You", which is, sadly, retired!  However, it's one that I continue to use.   For this card, I paired it with the sentiment from "Calm Christmas"  (132739).  It's a perfect sentiment for this image, and was what I needed to fit with the Festive Friday challenge to feature the word "peace".

I started by stamping the image of the angel and fussy cutting around it.  I then stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and mounted the whole thing, along with some retired DSP, onto some Metallic Gold card stock.  All that was left was to mount the angel on dimensionals.  Here's my card:

As the furniture from the front porch has been taken inside and the Christmas decorations have started to make an appearance, I had nowhere to take my photographs today.  Consequently, I had to prop the card up against the arm of Father Christmas!

Now… on to blog candy.

So, who was the person who correctly guessed my present, even though my hint was exceptionally obscure?

Yes, Cynthia was absolutely spot on.   I didn't want shoes, or handbags, or jewelry, I wanted something crafty and have had my eye on an e-cutter to use with MDS.  I really think that being able to import My Digital Studio elements into an e-cutter and then cut them out is going to be fabulous.  So, Lou spoilt me with a new Silhouette Cameo and I had tremendous fun on Wednesday making his anniversary card.   It might have taken me forever to get the feel of it, but I did – finally – make him a card!  However, when I got it, I realized that I needed an upgrade to the software in order to import my own .svg files.  Luckily, I waited until the sales became effective and managed to get the software upgrade 40% off.

Now, many of you had some really funny guesses as to what my gift might have been… I thought this was a great idea :-)  very funny!

Ruth – you asked what die I used on this post.  It's a Tim Holtz Movers & Shapers die called Mini Cardinal and Poinsettia.  It's a really cute set.  A quick tip though, if you haven't used the TH Movers and Shapers dies, you will need a base tray to make them work.   Don't ask me how I know they don't work without it!!!!
