Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday.
I managed to get into my stamping space for a little spot of stamping last night and, of course, I had to play around with Monstermaniacs.
As I attended the onlinecardclasses Insider class recently, I've been trying to add things to the inside of the cards to make them just a little more interesting. It was easy with this card because of the subject matter 🙂
I decided to go with an alien theme. Now, I apologize for the photos tonight. It's been raining for two days and I can't get outside to take photos as normal. I managed to sneak out at lunchtime when it wasn't raining too badly and capture a couple of photos. It was damp, cold and very grey!
I'm sorry that you can't see the silver glimmer paper behind the stars. It really does add an sparkly element to the card. The female monster is colored with Copics and then I added some glimmer to her with some gel rollers. For the eyes I used enamel accents to add dimension and I really like that it brings her eyes to life….. especially as she has three of them!
As this is an alien theme, I used a fitting sentiment and decorated the inside of the card with astrological images from a PTI set. I stamped the alien monster again and mounted her on the inside of the card with a wobbler. It's fun to open the card and see her bobbing around. Of course, this card will be going into the next OWH card drive. 🙂
Isn't she cute? I really love this set. Tracy, Doris let me know that she isn't the Doris D who created this set! But, I must admit, I wondered the same thing myself!
Whilst I was outside, I decided to take some photos of the Halloween decorations. You've seen the photos of the straw bales with the pumpkins, well, here's the latest addition to that little scene:
I love him… but he was just a tad wet!
Bones makes his appearance on our chair – a reprisal of his appearance from last year. Except this time I left the cobwebs and dead plant to add to the overall feel.
This burlap sign is new for this year. It makes me smile every time I look at it.
Very funny 🙂
The spider makes an encore appearance from last year, too. He's lit from around 6pm to 6am and really seems to just be hanging around waiting for something to come near the window!
Finally,
I love these little pumpkins nestled into the planters at the front door.
Oh… yes…. the lamps….. We bought outdoor candles in spring and put them on the steps. Little did I realize that they were wax! So, during the hot weather they metled into a sort of puddle. However, they are perfect for this time of year, so I brought them out again and covered the lamp with fake barbed wire. Surprisngly, these things still work and they light up at night.
Doesn't that barbed wire look real?
On a personal note:
I'm not going to get into my stamping space for the rest of the week as I have some late evening calls and some classes to do. Consequently, I won't have anything to post until Saturday when I get some time to get back into my craft room. Of course, because I wont get into my stamping space, I won't have any cards to share with you either! So, it's unlikely that I will be posting again until the end of the week.
For my OWH card drive winners, just wanted to let you all know that your goodies are winging their way to you now. I missed the post office on Saturday and forgot that Monday was Columbus Day! But they were sent off priority on Tuesday morning. So your goodies should be with you very soon.
As always, thank you for your visits and your comments. They are always much appreciated. Oh… except the ones that the spammers leave offering me all sorts of amazing things :-) For my actual blog readers – I really do appreciate YOUR comments and visits 🙂
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you that need a little lift tonight
Hugs
Jaydee

Oh my gosh, that spider is amazing! I happen to be a fan of spiders, but that one might give me a start.
Jaydee:
Your decorations are amazing!! It’s so much fun how the United States celebrate this holiday . . . everything is Halloween these days . . . then it will be Thanksgiving . . . and then beautiful Christmas decorations.
I try to do my best in this part of the world . . . first I create a Xmas spirit inside myself and then I put it out.
Have fun . . . I might show up at your door for a treat!!
Marina . . . from far Africa.
Beautiful monster card! I love the glimmer paper behind the stars and your pretty coloring Jaydee. The inside is as nice as the outside too. You’ve stepped it up a notch for certain!!!
The porch is gorgeous and I like the addition of your Halloween decorations. My son just informed me that we need to get going around here so I’d better start working on that. I hope you have lots of trick or treaters to enjoy Bones and “Legs”. Lol!!
Very cute alien, Jaydee! I really like the inside as well. I typically try to doll up the inside just a bit, but sometimes it depends on if I’m going to use the card as a note card or not.
Your home looks spooktacular! Love the scarecrow–of course, I’m not biased having one of our own or anything like that. ;oP The spider, the skeleton, the melted lights with barbed wire, all of it. It’s all fabulous! OH, yes, the banner as well! I saw one pinned on Pinterest yesterday and thought it was delightful, how fun to see someone I “know” actually has one!
Good luck getting through this busy week!
Hugs!
P.S. Hi Lou!
The barbed wire does look real! I thought it was. Nice decorations.
Cute card and wonderful decorations. Your scarecrow guy could put on a pound or 2. :} We used to stuff ours with straw or plastic grocery bags to make him look a bit fuller.
Enjoy your weekend.
Colleen.
