Merry Christmas for MoxieFabWorld and Addicted to CAS

Hi Everyone.   Happy Sunday.

I have a card that I made for two challenges today.   The inspiration challenge at MoxieFabWorld and the theme at AddictedtoCAS.

I was originally tempted to do a nautical theme for the Moxie inspiration photo, but realized I could change it up and make it a holiday card instead.   I used Midnight Muse, Whisper White, metallic silver and silver glimmer card stock.

Here's my card:

Merry Christmas (1 of 1)

I had such fun creating this card and managed to use some of my goodies that haven't had an outing in a while 🙂

On a personal note:

A nice relaxing day with time spent in the garden, having coffee at Starbucks with my honey, and time in my craft room.   Now, I'm off to go cook dinner with some wonderful Heirloom tomatoes, fresh asparagus and Heirloom lettuce.  For dessert?   Ah… strawberries marinated in dark chocolate balsamic vinegar with freshly torn chocolate mint leaves from my herb garden 🙂

I have to share a photograph with you tonight of our garden.   I keep finding new flowers popping up.  You can see that the black-eyed Susan's are still going strong – but hidden amongst them, on the bottom right corner, a white aster is bursting with buds, ready to bloom.   The purple flower on the side is, I believe, some sort of liatris.    The mixture of white, yellow and purple is one of my favorite color schemes.  How wonderful of Mother Nature to mix it up for me in my own little piece of paradise 🙂

Flowers (1 of 1)-3

Lou and I did a little shopping at Pottery Barn last week and found two of the Saybrook wingback chairs on sale….. they were floor samples and we got them for more than 50% off the original price.   They are, without doubt, the most comfortable outdoor chairs I have ever owned.   They work perfectly on the deck and we put a raindrum table between them with a hurricane jar and an outdoor candle.   It's the most peaceful place to sit and just enjoy the view.

Chairs (1 of 1)

On last night's post I was lamenting the passing of summer and the onset of Autumn/Fall.  Well, I checked the temperatures for the next 10 days…oh… Summer has not yet given up all she has to offer.  The temps will be in the mid-to- high 80s and low 90s for the next 10 days!   So, Lou and I will be eating out on the deck tonight enjoying these fabulous temperatures.

As always, thank you for visiting my little area of the stamping blogosphere.   Your visits and your comments are always much appreciated.   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.  Have a wonderful Monday.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. What a Beautiful card. Blue and silver makes for a really elegant card
Love you chairs Jaydee. They look like they wouldn’t be hard to take a nice nap in.

  2. Love this card. Tell me about all the little stars in the background. Your chairs look so inviting.

  3. Really pretty Jaydee! I just love Midnight Muse and paired with silver is perfect for a Christmas card. Your flowers are just lovely and how exciting to see more variety this year. Your outdoor living space just can’t get any better with the addition of your new chairs! I’d stay outside all day and get nothing done. ; )

  4. I love deep blues and silver together for holiday cards. This is delightful! How DID you make those teeny little stars?
Oh! Those gorgeous flowers!!! What a stunning view for sitting out and enjoying those new chairs. :o)
We have had the most delightful summer–for here at any rate–and I’m not anxiously anticipating fall as I typically do. We too are headed back to the upper 80’s to low 90’s this week. I have to say, it’s been rather lovely to not be suffocated with temps in the 100’s.
Hoping your Monday is less busy than last week!
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hi Lou! :o)

  5. Hey Jaydee! Thanks for linking this up to this week’s Tuesday Trigger in the Moxie Fab World! I’m so glad you joined in on all the fun! 🙂

  6. Gorgeous card! Love the starry background and shades of blue, just lovely. Thank you for joining us at ATCAS.

  7. Ooh, another pretty card. Even more, wish I lived near a pottery barn – I love their furniture – it looks great on your deck. It would be a happy place.

  8. Love your card – the silver stars are beautiful – but I am completely distracted by “dark chocolate balsamic vinegar”. I love strawberries in balsamic, but will definitely be searching for a dark chocolate version now 🙂

  9. I love all of those little stars! What a great way to add some interest to your background. The Midnight Muse looks great with the silver too. Great combination! Thanks for playing at ATCAS. 🙂
