Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday. Oh! Yes! We are on the countdown to the weekend!
You may remember that it is my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week and it's a Tic Tac Toe challenge. You can see my original card here. As a reminder, here's the challenge again.
This time I decided to go straight across the middle and create a birthday card using blue and pink, as well as a tag.
I've been waiting to find another use for the swallowtail digital stamp and this seemed like the ideal opportunity. I had such fun coloring the swallowtail. Now the analytical engineer in me says…. a swallowtaill isn't blue and pink… the creative in me says… who cares, it's my butterfly and I'll color it any way I want :-) Mmmmm…. is that the creative in me, or the 5-year old? Anyway, I digress!
Once I had colored the butterfly, I got out my magical low shine, fabulous, glitter and covered the butterfly wings with it. I left two patches unglittered. (Is there such a word?) I left the two blue "windows" colored, but not glittered – just to add a little change in texture. I then cut a tag using Pink Pirouette and stamped the sentiment onto the tag and mounted the butterfly.
Here's my completed card:
I combined two different prints from the Patterns Pack DSPs – Pacific Point and Pink Pirouette. I used the print on one and the stripe on the other. Of course, I HAD to pull out my cuttlebug embossing folder. I really am in love with it!
Here's a look at the detail. I know you can't see the shine .. but I wanted to show you the difference in the area where I did not add the glitter. I really think it makes it a little more interesting.
I was really happy with the overall card. I think the swallowtail image is gorgeous, and I love being able to resize it in MDS.
Some of you have asked about our feral friend. He's been back a couple of times in the past two weeks, but I only actually caught sight of him once. He's pretty good about popping by and not being seen. He hasn't been back for 4 or 5 days now and I'm thinking that food is a little easier to come by now that the weather is warming up. We'll continue to put food out for him though, just in case he gets hungry.
As always, thank you for stopping by my little space in the stamping blogosphere. I do appreciated your visit. Warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift tonight.
I'll be back on Friday with another card.
Hugs
Jaydee

Gorgeous Card. Wonderful coloring as well
Oh I like it! I love the idea of doing the 2 colors with the embossing folder. You are so good at creating cards!
Just a quick question-what adhesives do you find do the best job?
