Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Stef's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week! I decided to play with my Postal Collage set from Waffle Flower and this time I used the Beach Days stencil. I mean… we are close to summer, right? Maybe not here in Mn where it is still pretty chilly, but the colors on Stef's challenge just made me think of summer at the beach 🙂
I used the Postal Collage set and instead of breaking it up, which is what I normally do, I kept it together to create several beach scenes. Here's a sneak peek:
I think you might have got an idea of some of the colors that Stef included in her color challenge :-). Here's our badge:
Such fun! I love these bright colors and was really tempted to go floral when I first saw them, but convinced myself to try to step outside of my normal floral box:)
As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration:
On a personal note:
Well, we thought spring was here so we finally bought some deck furniture. The rocking and reclining chairs arrived yesterday and we managed to sit in them for about 30 minutes before the wind got into our bones and we had to come inside. The temps were expected to reach the mid 60s today so we thought we might get some use out of them…. ah… no… it's raining, so the chairs will just have to wait for a little while longer. Our dining chairs and table arrive later this week so we will have the chance to arrange the deck and we can't wait to be able to use them.
We are starting to see just the slightest tinges of green on a couple of the shrubs and the days are definitely getting longer. As we only moved into our new home in Fall, we have no idea what the place is going to feel like in spring and summer and are looking forward to watching the changing scenery outside our windows. The Junco's are still here, so we know that the bad weather hasn't quite disappeared!
We have put out a new feeder system in the back and are enjoying watching the birds discover them. We know we have some Pileated Woodpeckers around, but they haven't found the feeder as yet. We so hope they do, as they are one of my favorite all time birds.
As for the inside of the house, we have a builder coming at the end of this week to give us a quote for updating the staircase, laundry and master bathroom. Updating the staircase and loft area to take out the pony walls and put in a rail and cable system will really open up the spaces and finish up the more modern feel we want in that area. So, that's the main priority for this update. The laundry cabinets have been there since the house was built in the mid-80s are are really in need of an update. The laundry room is between the living and family rooms so we pass it multiple times every day, so prettying it up seems like the right thing to do. I see some wallpaper in my future 🙂
Well, I'm off to my craft room. I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Exciting times ahead on the house, Jaydee. It’s nice to have a project to work on like this. I do love this stamp set. I’ve seen it used quite a bit around different challenges and it really intrigues me as it seems to be able to be used in many ways. Love what you’ve done here with it. I just wish postage was really those prices!
While I love florals like you do, Jaydee, (and of course that’s what I used for my card lol!), I loved seeing you find another way to use the challenge colors. This is a really creative take and I absolutely adore these stencils and stamps that create all those fun vignettes. And that seagull!
For two years I have studiously ignored the postage trend but finally broke down after being inspired over and over again by cards such as yours and bought the basics plus some of the new stamp sets from WF. I’m looking forward to giving them a spin when they arrive this week!
This card is fun and fabulous, Jaydee! I LOVE this stamp and have a severe case of “stamp envy”. What a perfect way to use the challenge colors! All I could think of was flowers. lol Have a wonderful week!
Just adorable!
I am so tempted by this WF set Jaydee – LeAnne has some of these stencils too and I see them being used in so many fun ways! This postage-themed card has so many visual points of interest – and I love the expression of the seagull! Good luck with the renovation project too – hope you get the opportunity to sit out this week!
Jaydee, this is SOOO FUN!!!!! I esp love the french fries and the seagull! Your card made me smile! Such a creative way to use the colors!
Good luck with all your projects. I know it will all look amazing! Wishing you a blessed Easter!
