Hi Everyone. How about we start off with a little aliteration this evening :-) It certainly hadn't been my intention when I started the heading for my post tonight…..
It's the fabulously talented Ann's turn to be our hostess this week and she has a fabulous bright and cheerful challenge for us all.
Now these are fabulous colors, but not ones I don't generally put together. Which is why I love it when my design team mates choose colors out of my comfort zone. Initially I had created a card which was all vanilla with hints of the three colors. This afternoon I decided I needed to EMBRACE the colors, so created a different card. I'll show you the other one later in the week!
I decided to pull out a couple of goodies that I had purchased from the spring mini and sale-a-bration catalogs. I LOVE… REALLY love the new vine embossing folder. The fact that it was free with my order was a great bonus!
I pulled out my Papillon Potpourri stamp set, some pearls and my So Happy For You sentiment set and got to work.
Here's my second card:
Originally I had three butterflies, but…… three butterflies and a sentiment just don't work. All my regulars know that I like elements in odd numbers and the three butterflies with the sentiment made it an even 4. It really looked decidedly ODD. So, I removed one of the butterflies and stamped the sentiment in its place. That looked so much better.
I stamped the butterflies in Midnight Muse. That helped pull the blue from the base of the card to the front of the card. I know you can't see it, but I gelly rolled the elements on the two butterflies and they look pretty on the actual card. I added some pearls and was ready to assemble my card.
I popped the butterflies from the oval hexagon layer with some dimensionals. I cut a dimensional in half and put the straight edge against the middle of the butterfly. This helps to lift the wings of the butterfly and they should stay that way even when the card goes through the post.
Now.. the pearls look a really minty green, but they aren't they are almost the color of the Summer Starfruit. However, my camera and software really do treat the saturation of the card stock and the elements very differently.
The design team have an amazing array of fabulous confections for your inspiration this week. We hope you will play along with us.

On a personal note:
I apologize to my regular readers for not posting since Monday. It has been a very long and very stressful week at work – up to 16 hour days – and I just didn't have the energy to post anything on my blog. Yesterday I was called by my manager at 7pm because he needed something last night to send to executive management. So, the week didn't end early for me either! However, it is past now and I am in the middle of the weekend and looking forward to a relaxing day tomorrow crafting whilst watching the snow fall!
I hope all my readers on the East Coast are warm and cozy and not without power. I just CANNOT imagine 40 inches of snow…. 40 inches….. It's just astonishing and scary! We are expecting 4-8 and then this storm that passes through us this weekend will head to the east. So, more snow for them.
I have a huge blog milestone coming up tomorrow and have some fun and blog candy coming up this week. I do hope you will join me tomorrow to help me celebrate and play along with the fun. 🙂
Now, I am off to make dinner. Lou? Well, he's taping the downstairs bathroom ready for paint! Yep… mmmmm….. more paint!!!!!
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Love the clean simple design of this, Jaydee! The fact that you’ve used two of my most favorite embossing folders, makes it that much better! such a fun card! ((hugs))
I absolutely love the colors (some of my favorites) and the embossing folders just add the perfect touch. Beautiful. Stay warm and craft on! That Lou is something with a paint brush.
Simple but effective! LOVE the butterflies…just got that set myself!
Awesome card, Jaydee! Embossing folders, butterflies and pearls…it doesn’t get any better than this!
Great use of the colors, Jaydee, and I like the textures of your embossed layers.
