Extreme Elements Starfruit Rocker

Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday.
We are so close to a long weekend, I can taste it!  Which, brings me to one of my favorite SU In Colors evah.  I must admit, I have been very partial to the green in colors…. Kiwi Kiss was one of my favorites.  I also loved Pear Pizzazz.  I'm very fond of Lucky Limeade… and I am really partial to Summer Starfruit.  It's such a lovely yellowy-greeny color!

Tonight's card – which is another one I made for Enchanted Makeovers – was created using another one of those $5 sets.  It also uses MDS – Extreme Elements.  Have I told you that I am loving the updates to MDS?  Nah… I'm sure I haven't :-)   The ability to size an object – and to color different portions of it with the paint brush is fabulous.

I loved this Rock On set, but didn't have the right background and I didn't have Extreme Elements in rubber.  I opened up my MDS and created the background using the digital Extreme Elements Stamp.  As I made two different color versions of this card, I was able to use the same background, but just paint it to match the two different color schemes for the card.

I then inked up the guitar and stamped it onto a piece of scrap Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out using the accompanying die.  (When I showed this card to Lou, he said I should have colored the guitar the same color as the base… and I think he was right, but it was too late by then.  However, if I do this card again, I certainly will do that.)

I added a little Hero Arts metallic dot to the guitar. Well, it needs somewhere to plug it into, right?:-) Once I had done that, I snipped it out and used dimensionals to pop it up from the Extreme Elements layer.  I used the note stamp from the set and stamped that three times around the extreme elements background.  All that was left to do was to stamp the sentiment.

Isn't that background fabulous?  It's Midnight Muse, highlighted with Summer Starfruit.  I was really pleased with the card.  I love the color scheme and I love the clean and simple lines.  The graphic, bi-colored background image really helps to ground the guitar.  The color scheme also makes it suitable as a card for either gender – and pretty much any age.

On a personal note:

Tomorrow is a half-day and then Lou and I are off for the weekend.  It's our intention to have a quite thanksgiving at home and to relax and chill.  We will also do our decorating for Christmas and I really am looking forward to that.   Mmmm… some cool temperatures and some snow would be nice.  It's been 20-30 degrees above average here.  This is Minnesota.  It's past the middle of November and I was outside on the porch last night, at 11.30pm, wearing nothing except a short sleeved summer t-shirt!
