Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
As you know, Saturday is the night that I reveal my Paper Players card. Lesley has a fabulous color combo for us this week. I was really excited as I would never have normally put these colors together – but they are awesome.
I decided that I wanted to do a clean and simple card. One that would easily go through the post without paying extra for it!
I'll take a bet that when you look at this card you won't believe that it is 100% completely, truly, Stampin' Up! only.
It really is…. it uses three MDS stamp sets. I love using MDS on my cards. I can size the sentiment and the focal image to whatever size suits me. Also, there are some sets which are only available in MDS – like the sentiment.
I was able to easily add all three colors to the card. Lucky Limeade was used for the sentiment. Basic Gray was used for the circle that incorporates both the sentiment and the flower.
I then used a Melon Mambo marker to color the flower and backed the Whisper White focal layer onto Melon Mambo card stock. Melon Mambo is NOT my favorite color, but it really works well when used as an accent. It's just too strong for me as a main color. The Basic Gray helps to ground it and the Lucky Limeade really does lift it. So, a great color combo.
Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up!:
- Card stock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White
- Stamps: – all My Digital Studio. Sentiment: Fantabulous You. Flower and circle: First Edition
- Inks: Melon Mambo, Basic Gray
Now, we really hope you will play along with us this week. You really need to pop along to the fabulous design team sites to get some fabulous inspiration, too.
On a personal note.
I couldn't go without adding some photos to my post.
Doesn't this look like a fairy glade? Really….. its the lot two away from us. I fell in love with this lot but, alas, it was already sold. I swear there are faeries flitting around at night casting magic in these woods.
I took this next shot of a tree on our lot. I loved the lichen. I loved the fact that the bark was peeling off and creating this amazingly artistic shape. Mother Nature is so wonderful.
I love the view from the back of our house. The view over the wetland is just gorgeous. We put the chairs on the patio and it is wonderful to be so close to so much nature. However, this is a wetland right. A wetland has, by its very nature, standing water. mmmm… standing water. humidity. equals one thing MOSQUITOES. No wonder they say that mosquitoes are the national bird in Minnesota in Summer. They are HUGE!!!! But, we wil not be deterred. The view is gorgeous. The seats are sublimely comfortable and modern man has tools to avoid mosquitoes!
Whilst I was walking the lot, I saw these little white flowers about to bloom. No idea what they are, but they are gorgeous.
I'll leave you with one last photograph. A closeup of the chairs and the view onto the wetland
Think I'm obsessed with the view? YEP! I admit it, I am seriously addicted to the view 🙂
Don't forget to pop along to the Paper Players and join us this week. We'd love to see what you create using these great colors.
Before I go.. I have to say Happy Birthday, Rose. I know I can't send you a physical card or flowers to celebrate. But I know you feel our love and prayers and that you are celebrating a wonderful day with Les in Heaven.
Warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift tonight. Pammie….love and hugs to you. I know that Rose was with you in spirit today.
Hugs
Jaydee

I looks like your flower is a raspberry! We have tonz of black raspberries in our woods. We just have a small section of woods, but the raspberries are sure yummy! They are about 3 weeks early this year. Beth
Beautiful card – love its elegance and simplicity! The circle draws it all together – love it! And your pictures are gorgeous!
Love this CAS creation…I wondered how you got that circle image on there. MDS is a land into which I have not ventured….not quite yet, anyway!!!
Your card is CAS perfection, Jaydee! You also reminded me that I don’t use MDS often enough. It truly does offer so many different options for sizing, etc. I really love the circle accent. Really draws the eye in. Very pretty!
What a gorgeous view! I can see why you are obsessed with it. I love that litte seating area you have set up, too. Hopefully the mosquitoes aren’t too bad this year. That’s one thing I do not miss about living in North Dakota. Those buggers are huge!! Have a great rest of your weekend! Hugs!
Lovely CAS creation Jaydee! The circle behind the sentiment adds such a interest without competing with the other elements. Wonderful design and such a clean take on these bright colors. Love your view and the fairy glen IS magical! ((hugs))
I want to sit outside in your outdoor living room with a good book and sip tea and listen to the birds. Your MDS card is fabulous!
I have to say, that is not a color combo I would go to, but it works. Your card is wonderful and simplicity itself. Fabulous!
Your views are STUNNING! I’m so happy for you and Lou to be able to look from your deck or sit on your patio (so kind of you to provide the mosquitoes with a food source ;oP) and see the glory that is Mother Nature.
That fairy glade is incredible–I can see why you fell for it. I bet it is a hotbed of fairy activity at dusk and dawn. Wouldn’t you love to be privy to those parties? :o)
Happy Monday, friend! I hope you had a restful weekend. :o)
Hugs!
P.S. Hiya Lou! :o)
Stunning CAS card Jaydee! Gorgeous views too. 🙂
Jaydee, no one does and simple as well as you! You are the best! Plus, I have loved looking at the pictures of your gorgeous home, with its surrounding flowers and wildlife. What a beautiful, peaceful retreat!
