Hi Everyone. Happy Friday.
Well…. today…. I spent hours in my craft room. Yep… on a Friday! I took the day off and decided it was time to get the feel of my room and to see whether I could actually create anything!
It took a LONG time. Because my mind has been so involved in the house, getting the other house ready for sale, and all the things that go along with a major move – as well as being ridiculously busy at work, I haven't been able to think about cards or see a creation in my mind. I think it's going to take quite a while to get back into things. When I'm in a creative lull, I know that a challenge is a thing to get me going.
I saw this great sketch across at Merry Monday and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. One of my favorite all time Stampin' Up! sets is Snow Much Fun. I was thrilled that they were keeping it around again this year. (You all have seen the new catty, right? Some super stuff in there! Fabulous sketch, isn't it?
Here's what I did with it. I made only one change and that was to forgo a sentiment. I thought the card screamed Christmas and that there was enough going on. So, contrary to my obsession with sentiments on the front of cards…. I decided I'd leave it off.
You can see that I used the "le Pouff" for the snow on the tree, in a couple of strategic places (the fork of the snowman's hand, the front of his top hat, and at the base of focal images. I used some Basic Rhinestones for his buttons, which I colored using Copic markers. I also added a few uncolored Basic Rhinestones on the snowflakes under the focal layer.

- DSP: Patterns Pack – Regals
- Stamps: Snow Much Fun
- Inks: Memento Black. Copic Markers
- Accessories: Basic Rhinestones
- Tools: Big Shot. Embossing folder (Sizzix). Le Pouff (Amuse Studio)

On a personal note:
I have a couple of photos for you tonight. Mutt-face, fuzzbut, Bailey, was really being cute yesterday. I was trying to get as many boxes unpacked as I could. The minute I started to unpack them, something appeared in them!
I then stacked some things on the stairs going to the upper floor with the intention of taking everything up at once, including a sheet that had been in a packing box and needed washing. Mmmmm… looks like rooting around in boxes got tiring!
How on earth can that be comfortable? I ask you? It must have been though, because he wasn't happy that I disturbed him!
One more pic for you….. I have been dying to catch the Pileated at the suet feeder. I managed to get him. However, his head moves SO quickly, that it was impossible to get a good picture of him. At least in this one, his head is somewhat stationary.
Isn't he amazing? I am so pleased that we were able to attract him.

Hi Jaydee!! Oh, so happy to hear that you have taken just a tad bit of time away to craft and create. Your card is amazing! I love what you did with this sketch. The embossed layer with rhinestones really adds lots of sparkle and looks great with the snowman. I recently got this set and haven’t opened it up yet. I guess I’m just not in winter mode but having a stash and working ahead is an awesome idea!
Bailey is a hoot! Love how he just wraps up in whatever is around. Those pics are treasures. You’ll have to do an album in mds sometime with all your beloved kittens.
Love the pileated pic too. It is amazing that you got him there so soon after moving! What a treat for you to catch this photo!
I found out this week that our little birdie nest has ruby finches instead of sparrows. The babies are so big in there that they hardly fit! I can’t tell if we have 3 or 4 babies. It has been so neat to watch them grow.

Love your post today. I love the card very cute! The cat pictures are so sweet. And the woodpecker is amazing. We have them in the woods up North and I have not been able to get a picture. I am going to take suet with me next time and see if it works. Thanks for the tip.
My two favorite things in this post are the pileated picture (nothing short of amazing) and the rug! Well, the card and cats are cute too but….just saying. Love that rug!

I love this snowman with his black rhinestone buttons and the handful of snow and bird and the embossed snowflakes! The kitty and woodpecker are both amazing pics. How do cats find such strange sleeping positions? So glad you joined us at Merry Monday this week, Jaydee.
I know I should be commenting on the card–which is oh so fun!–but I’m struck dumb by that gorgeous bird!! Oh he is fabulous, isn’t he? :o) I have a couple of little woodpeckers who come to visit, but no pileateds. Wow…just wow.
As for the card–that is such a fun sketch and I love your take on it! :o) Of course, you can’t go wrong with snowmen, can you?
That Bailey is one beautiful boy. He’s absolutely gorgeous–even when he’s trying to break himself by sleeping in such an uncomfortable position in such a strange place. ;o)
