Happy Thursday.
I have a fun card for you today using the brand new Open Book stencil and dies from Waffle Flower. I made an adult version using this set and it's very different to this kids version. You can see the adult card here.
The challenge across at Send A Smile 4 Kids is looking for a fun fold, and the challenge at Just Us Girls is to use stencils. So, I combined both of those challenges for this card.
Here's a sneak peek:
Oh, I had such fun creating this card. I used the Waffle Flower Open Book stencil with the Dragon and Castle Stencils. I began by stenciling the front part of the book and added the sentiment from the Open Books sentiment. I then created a "back" to the book by stenciling the outer part of the book and then adding different content to the pages for the inside.
For the fancy fold, I essentially made a z fold and stencilled the inside of the card base using some stencils that we got as part of our Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect a week ago. The great Jennifer McGuire used this stencil and layout in one of her classes. So, I piggybacked on that as I thought it would be fun for this kids' card.
I folded back the front part of the card and adhered the front pages of the book to the left hand fold. I then took the second set of pages for the book and adhered those to the back of the book on the inside left.
Here's the front of the card:
And then here's the other side of the book – essentially the inside of the card:
What little girl doesn't want a lilac dress, a veil and a sentiment that reminds them of how strong they are!
I just know that this set is going to get a lot of us and hope that Waffle Flower bring out more items to fit this format soon:-)
I'll be back tomorrow with my Festive Friday card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

This is just as cute as it can be, Jaydee and ever so magical! Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Just Us Girls!
Hi Jaydee, I have that book set and haven’t even used it yet, and never would have thought to use it as a fun fold! Love the stenciling too, what a great card! Thanks for sharing with us at Send a Smile 4 Kids.
What an awesome card, Jaydee! I love how you used both sides of the book die with different scenes, and that stenciled plaid/rainbow background is wonderful. Such talent!
Jaydee, I adore your card. ADORE IT! You are right about any little girl loving this and the sentiments are perfect. It’s impossible to go wrong with a Jennifer McGuire inspired idea, right?! Instead of selecting Top Three cards this month, I am issuing Guest Designer invitations. Just email me if you’d like to join us as a GDT for a future challenge. We’d love to have you join us. 🙂
Hi Sabrina
I would be honored to do a DT spot for such a great cause. Thank you so much for the invitation😀
A princes and a dragon. Great card for a young girl,Jaydee, and the fun fold as a book is the perfect way to show off those stencils. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls.
