Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday night. I hope you are all having a great week so far.
So, as part of my "get your mojo kicked into gear" stint, I checked out the "featured stamper" challenge across at Splitcoast. The featured stamper for that particular week is Chupa aka Iwona Palamountain. Now, Chupa has a fabulous style and it is very different to mine. That's why I thought it was a greate idea to case Chupa – take me outside of my box. I checked out her gallery and came across this fabulous card. Which, it turned out, was a case of a card that had appeared on her casestudy challenge site. So, this card is a case of a case!!!!
I loved Chupa's use of color and the negative side of a nestability. Now, for those of you who are SU demos, or have the seen the latest upcoming mini, then you could use the new framelits instead of the nestability.
For my case of Chupa's card I decided to stick with the color scheme and the nestie label she had chosen, but changed out the sentiment, the flowers, forgo the embossing folder on the top layer. I also added two silver pearls for a little bling. My butterfly is from the First Edition MDS brush stamp set (again… I know… I am addicted!!!!!) I sized it to fit and colored it using Copic markers.
My blue background was created using a sponge dauber and Pool Party and Not Quite Navy inks. I wanted a darker top and a lighter bottom. The front layer is raised on Stampin Dimensionals.
Here's my version of Chupa's card. I really apologise for the photo!!
I was really pleased with it. I never think to use the negative part of the nestabilities and really need to do that more often. I also like the blue and black – it seems to be a blue and black week for me!
Well, Lou has just called to tell me that dinner is ready. He was very kind and decided to cook tonight as I was at my crafting desk. As it has been a while since I have been so excited about creating a card, he decided to leave me alone and let me play! Isn't he the greatest! So, I am off to sample some fabulous Lou food.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs

Very pretty Jaydee. Yes, isn’t it wonderful when they cook? I will have to start using my MDS for my cards … just never think about doing that, since I am all hands when it comes to my cards. Going to start on a baby shower next week…I have lots of invites to make and decorations, favors and a baby diaper cake to make. YAY! I can’t wait to see how everything turns out. Have a great day! Glad Lou is home with you right now.
Gorgeous, Jaydee! I can’t wait to try this!
So pretty! I hope you and Lou have a wonderful 2012 – with your new house! Happy new year!
Oh, what a beautiful card! I love the color!! :o) That butterfly is stunning perched right there above the silhouette of those flowers. Just lovely.
I hope your mojo has indeed been kick-started by these lovely cards I’ve just seen. I’m striving to work more on cards this year. I love to make them and need to make time to do more stamping. Hopefully MY mojo will be flowing this evening…
Hugs!
