Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday night.
Firstly, I want to thank all of you who left comments, sent me emails and said a few healing prayers for me these last few days. I really did appreciate them and they mean a great deal to me. A quick card and then I will update you on my SU color leg! 🙂
I wanted to share with you two versions I made of the same card for swaps at convention. I actually made two different swaps with the Faith in Nature set. I really do love this set. Are you getting that impression yet? 🙂
I photograped them just as I was about to run out of the door, so please excuse the fact that they are not as decent as normal.
And… because I was in a rush to get them in the clear envies… I didn't go fix up the position of the ribbon either… so I need to go fix that and put a little glue on it before I give them out!
Here's the first one. I wanted to showcase the flower stamp, the sentiment, and coloring with our Markers. I used Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White. The flower was colored using Wisteria Wonder and Daffodil Delight. The stem was colored with Lucky Limeade. I love the look of this color combo together and felt that the little basic rhinestone added just the right amount of bling for the middle of the flower. All that was left was to add a little Concord Crush ribbon.
The cellophane envelope doesn't make it easier for you to see…but hopefully if you blow it up you can see the detail. For the background, I ran the Concord Crush through my Big Shot with a texturz plate and then, using my sanding blocks, lightly went over the embossed image to highlight it and to tie it in with the Wisteria Wonder layer.
Here's the second version… this time I used Poppy Parade and Calypso Coral. I changed out the rhinestone for a pearl.
Then… because I messed up with the last few I was making, I ended up with a whole card using Calypso Coral! Grrr… But as I had made them, and adhered them altogether… I thought.. I might as well just add them to the pile!
I did change out the yellow on the Calypso/Poppy ones. I used So Saffron instead of Daffodil Delight. Anyway, there you have the first of my swaps. 🙂
On a personal note.
So… for those of you who might be interested… my leg brusing got worse. The whole lower part of my leg is now a fabulous mixture of razzleberry, concord and a color that you would get if not quite navy and wisteria wonder had offspring :-) It did swell more on the flight over, which I wasn't surprised about. However, I am getting around. Slowly and methodically – and a little doddery…. but getting around none the less. Tomorrow, when convention starts, I am hoping to get a spare chair so that I can at least elevate the leg and stop it from swelling. I still can't believe what an idiot I was.
I was standing in line to get into Memento Mall today and was chatting with two wonderful ladies – Missy and Kim… Hi! Missy and Kim! Missy and I were sharing war stories on how crafting is hazardous to our health and shared peeks at our leg. Missy is doing up her new stamping space (sounds fabulous by the way – Caesarstone tops! gojuss!) and moving the slab resulted in a lower leg injury! So, beware crafting can, indeed, be hazardous!
Talking about Memento Mall – I bought a couple of things that I will be using as blog candy for you all. More details on that next week.
Tomorrow, I am hoping to share some pics from the photoboards, make and takes, etc. I'll also share any news that might be of interest.
In the meantime, have a fabulous Thursday and, as always, thank you for your visit.
Prayers tonight for those who need a little lift, including Missy and Rach.
Hugs
Jaydee

While I think the card is loverly in the Concord Crush, I REALLY love it in the Poppy Parade (the Calypso Coral is nice too). As I’ve said before, as much as I love Poppy Parade, I find it insanely difficult to work with. I love how you don’t seem to have any trouble at all. I think one of the reasons it works so well is because the flower is fairly small with regards to the white space, and then, the base mimics the color beautifully. The ribbon just finishes it off. :o)
I’m SO happy you have arrived in one piece–bum leg notwithstanding. I was very worried about that, as I know B had trouble with his leg when he had a DVT a couple of years back. Be aware of your body and listen to it, okay?
I can’t wait to see all you are seeing. :o) And, hi to your new friends!
Hi to you too, Lou!
Hugs!
Both are so pretty! Love the Poppy Parade one – just like that color though as they’re all wonderful.
Hope you’re having a good time – but take care of that leg!
Lynn
I’m really glad you were able to get to Convention despite that very colourful leg. I’ve been in that facility, so I know how much walking there is. I’m with Rach–do listen to your body when you are tempted to push it past its limit. (maybe compression stockings for the flight home?)
On the other hand, I can’t wait to see and hear all the great new things you’ll be experiencing. Enjoy!
Beautiful cards Jaydee! I love them all!
Jaydee,I wish your new friend, Missy, was me LOL! But unfortunately, I am not at convention, so its NOT me! But tell Missy & Kim “hi” for me!
Please take care of yourself and DO NOT overdo it! I, too, agree with Rach! You know your body better than anyone! So be careful BUT have fun!
Prayers to Rach & all who are in need!
I really love your convention swap cards! It is amazing how changing out the rhinestone for a pearl changes the look. I think the purple is my favorite. While I adore the poppy one, the purple one just sings to me.
Jaydee, please take it easy at convention. I think that is a great idea to elevate your leg if you can get a 2nd chair. Can’t wait to see your blog posts and tell us all about it! Many continued prayers for you and all in need.
Beautiful cards again-isn’t it funny what a color does for a card?! My favorite is the Poppy Parade.
Hope you have a wonderful time despite a very sore leg.
Beautiful cards as always. Thanks for sharing with us.
Sorry to hear about your leg swelling more and making it uncomfortable for the trip. Have fun at convention . . . wish I was there!
Did you see that I got a new recruit? WOOTHOOT!
Have a great day.
Beautiful cards, Jaydee. Perfect sentiment too, right? I too send prayers for your leg to heal and not hamper you convention fun. Hugs!
Funny how the same card is so different in different colors. I love both cards.
Take care of yourself and enjoy the convention.
Love these cards. Hope your leg continues to heal. Enjoy the convention.
