Another Sneak Peek – Faith in Nature for the Paper Players – Thank You

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday night.

A very quick post for you tonight.

Some of you may remember seeing my sneak peek using the Faith in Nature set at this post.  I decided that I wanted to do a clean and simple version for the Paper Players challenge this week.

The challenge for this week is to make a Thank You card.  It appears these days that the days of instaneous messaging have completely eclipsed the wonderful feeling of receiving something NICE in the mail!  So, we were challenged this week to create a Thank You card.

One of my work colleagues was wonderful enough to send me a "care package" full of wonderful goodies including spa day goodies – and some homemade, absolutely phenomenal, caramels!  I wanted to find a way to say thank you.  LeAnne's challenge – and this fabulous new set – was the perfect thing.  I have actually made a set of 8 cards, along with some other goodies, to send along to my dear friend to say thank you.

Here's my thank you card:

We hope that you will join us this week and share your thank you card.  All you need to do is pop along to the PAPER PLAYERS and add a link to the thank you card that you have made for our challenge.  Don't forget to check out the fabulous design team cards, they really have excelled themselves again this week.

On a personal note:

Lou and I are sitting out on the deck and it is nearly 10pm.  It is the most glorious night.  We had Polenta Al Funghi and a glass on wine sitting out watching the sun set.  Absolutely fabulous.  The heat and humidity are starting to dissipate.  The birds are finally quiet and the darkness has surrounded us.  The tranquility of night was disturbed by a couple of raccoons fighting over the bird food. Honestly, the sounded like a drove of pigs.  We immediately pulled out the binoculars and the flashlight to take a look at them.  They sorted out their disagreement and one moved a little to the right.  Only to find that there was even more wonderful goodies – rinds from the Parmesan and Taleggio cheeses – were hiding.  The female is very possessive and when I looked through the binoculars and saw that she was a feeding momma.  No wonder she was so keen to see the other one move along!  What a great way to end the day.

Prayers tonight for those who need a little lift, or a warm hug.

As always, thank you so much for taking the time to visit my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  Your visit means a great deal to me.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Jaydee, I just read your past few blog entries and drooled over your new cards – they are gorgeous! Please tell me how you colored the pear in the two cards using this stamp. I love pear stamps – I still have the stamp from “All Natural” (I think that’s what it’s called – it retired years ago)! Did you use Crumb Cake on an acrylic block for the background of this one?
I loved hearing you tell about your delicious dinner on the deck, and looking at the raccoons – you have a lovely yard! My oldest daughter’s in-laws live in your town! And my DH has a cousin who lives in Goodhue, and they had Red Wing caramels at her son’s wedding and they were INCREDIBLE! Have you had those?
Thanks for your sharing – your cards, and yourself!
    Hugs,

  2. This happens to be one of my favorite sets I saw in the preorder–I haven’t actually seen it in use until your post -so Thank You! I should be getting my order this week. I love the simplicity that you created. Also wanted to let you know what a delightful post ending you described. We all need to savor more of those moments 🙂

  3. I could not agree more on the importance of thank you notes! I love making them and appreciate receiving them.
    Your CAS card is great!

  4. This clean and crisp card is beautiful and elegant… I LOVE how you stamped this whole thing… wow….. the BG behind the pear has set this off spectacularly… wonderful card. Hugs.

  5. Simply stunning, Jaydee! I’m sure your friend will enjoy the set of cards you made for her, too. I always enjoy reading your posts. Sounds like you had a wonderful evening and a delicious dinner. Hope today is great for you. Hugs! 🙂

  6. This would be such a nice set to receive! Your friend will love these cards! The evening sounds lovely…my parents have raccoons on their property and my dad saw one raccoon carrying around a baby raccoon (a pup?) in her mouth, just like a cat would.
    Hugs to you my friend!

  7. Hi Jaydee,
I’m thinking how nice it is that I’m commenting just after my dear friend and convention buddy Soozie! And of course, I want to ditto what she said. :->
I LOVE your classy one layer card, it’s so beautiful! I think a OLC does the best job of highlighting the images, and this pear is gorgeous! It’s so pretty with the bit of background you put behind it and your awesome coloring. Can’t wait to get this set!
I feel so blessed to be working with you this month.

  8. Look at all that beautiful white space. :o) What a stunning card. One layer cards are so hard to create and you make it look effortless.
I think I’m an oddity in today’s day and age because my children are required to write “thank you” notes. I do as well. In fact, I owe a number of folks notes and should probably get crackin’ on making them. ;o)
I can just see those raccoons going at it. :o) What an image you gave me, hee hee. And, how delightful to get to spend time with your sweetie on your gorgeous deck enjoying the evening together.
Prayers for those in need, and big hugs. :o)

  9. Jaydee – this is classically stunning! I love all the white space and the fact that it is a one layer card that still has so much “Wow” factor!

  10. Very clean indeed and a very quick card. Thanks for sharing with us.
Hope you are not working to hard. You might need another break like this last one in July too 🙂

  11. Beautiful card. I passed right by this set, but after seeing your card, I need to go take another look. I love your personal note about the lovely evening you had with Lou. It sounds magical.
