Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday night.
Yay! I made 3 cards today! Yep… 3… including the one for tonight's challenge. Talk about taking it to the wire!
It's my pleasure to host the Paper Players challenge this week. Guess what? Yep! It's clean and simple week.
It's a very versatile clean and simple sketch. You can keep it as a horizontal card, or make it vertical. In fact, Lesley, our design team leader, did just that and it's a fabulous card!
I chose to keep it horizontal and decided it was time to play around with one of my wheels. My wheels get so little love, which is unfortunate, because they really are pretty amazing. I used the Take a Sip wheel, and combined it with the sentiment from Morning cup. Of course, I couldn't resist adding a little bling and a little texture. Crystal Effects are a great way to do that. If you blow up this image, you can see that I used my Crystal Effects to create a ceramic effect on the mug and cup. I then dotted Crystal Effects on the tops of the "steam" and the little starbursts. I then sprinkled Dazzing Diamonds over the top to get a little bling.
Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up!, unless otherwise noted.
- Card stock: Marina Mist, Whisper White (textured and plain)
- Stamps: Take a Sip wheel. Sentiment: Morning Cup
- Inks: Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait. Basic Black.
- Tools: Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Silver Pearls (non-SU). Stampin' Dimensionals. Scallop Border Punch
Tip: Tired of your Crystal Effects clogging up? The perfect way to fix that, is to lie the Crystal Effects on it's side. This keeps a constant supply of CE to the tip, and stops it from clogging. Since I began storing my CE on it's side, I haven't had any problems.
I hope my clean and simple sketch inspires you to pop along to the Paper Players and join us. Don't forget to pop along, anyway, and see what the design team have cooked up for you as inspiration.
On a personal note:
Today was a white, white, white world. Yep, we woke to snow! SNOW! it was cold, wet, windy and pretty grim. Especially after the fabulous weather over the past week or so. Mind you, we did get to the Farmer's Market this morning, where there were some fresh green salad goodies. Oh, yeah! Now that was a very welcome sight.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a lift tonight.
I hope you have a wonderful Sunday, filled with love, laughter, joy – and time spent doing the things you love, with those you love!
Hugs
Jaydee

Good Morning Sweetie! I love the card, BUT I would have to use the *tea bag strong!* : )
Not a coffee drinker. Keep up the great work and glad you are getting back into the stamping room. Have a great day!
fantastic card, jaydee!! love the sketch and can’t wait to get something made!!
Okay, how much am I loving this card and the sketch challenge? I have all sorts of ideas running through my head even as I type. :o) Some little Beanie I know is having a birthday Tuesday and needs a happy first birthday card. :o)
I love the Marina Mist, and the way you “ceramicized” (yes, I just made up a word) the mugs using the CE. The DD are a fabulous touch. :o) Gorgeous!
Oh no! Snow? Really?!? I’m SO sorry. We had *devastating* storms our way yesterday. Tornadoes touched down and had three die in the county to the NE of us. :o( Our house, thankfully, suffered no damage from downed trees, but just a few miles to the east as the crow flies, there was much damage. Today is certainly a day of clean-up. :oS
Woot-woot! Three cards! Can’t wait to see the other two! This one is awesome, I love the way you used the wheel…and the colours are FAB! Thanks for the sweet support!
Hugs,
Lesley
Thanks for the great sketch! I love it! =D I love how simple it is. I had a great time with this challenge.
More snow? Yikes, doesn’t Mother Nature know that it’s Spring, for goodness sakes? I just love going to the Farmer’s Market, though. Hopefully that was a nice distraction from the snow. 🙂
Thank you for such a fun sketch, this week! I love how your card came together. Bright and happy colors mixed with gorgeous details. You really are the CAS queen, Jaydee. Always perfect!
Thank you for the tip on the CE, too. I have to try that out! Have a great day! Hugs! 🙂
Wow! I love all the crystal effects on this one, Jaydee! The dazzling diamonds are the perfect touch and your choice of colors is so “perky”! Thanks for a great sketch this week…hugs!
First, my condolences on the snow. I am complaining about the rain….at least it’s not snow. But your card is fabbo! Someone just bought this sweet little wheel at my workshop on Saturday and got me to thinking about how cute it is! Love your color choices too!
Very cute Jaydee! I keep forgetting about my wheels….thanks for the inspiration!

I’m a big coffee drinker so this card is right up my alley! Love your coloring and the look of the crystal effects.
