Hi Everyone.
Sorry I didn't get to post last night. Lou and I went up to a concert in Minneapolis. We left at 4 and didn't get home until midnight and I didn't have chance to post before we left. Cherie… you would have LOVED the concert.
We went to see Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Now, that name may not ring a bell with some of you, but if you are a Paul Simon Graceland fan, you might remember the South African group who harmonized and sang tracks on that album. This is the second time I have seen LBM live. The last time was with 40,000 – yep, 40,000 other people in Ellis Park stadium, Johannesburg in 1992. It was an amazing summer night. The stadium was packed. It was an historic night. Paul Simon was the first UN sanctioned act to play in South Africa after the end of apartheid. It was a night to celebrate. It was a night to party. It was a night to savor. It was, quite frankly, magical.
Last night's concert took me back not only to that night, but transported me to the country where I spent over 20 years. Being transported brought me so many wonderful memories, some sad reflections and a feeling of loss for the people I had loved and subsequently lost. I got carried away by the most amazing acapella harmonies based on a music style endemic to South Africa. It was, quite frankly, wonderful!
Anyway, I hope you will all forgive me for not posting last night! Cherie, you really would have loved it!!!

Woo a night out? That is great you got to relax and spend time with Lou, well deserved on your part.
I do love the new stamp set. Thanks for sharing with us.
Have a great weekend.
So glad you enjoyed the concert. They do put on a great show-we saw them here in Rochester a few years ago, after the family trip to SA. Loved it! Their sound always transports me back as well, I was living in SA when Graceland came out and have worn out 2 cassette tapes and one CD since! Hmm, I think I may have to risk wearing out the current one today. Always a great soundtrack for house work!
Thanks for sharing the board-looks like a fun set, can’t wait to see more of it, the little kiddles are too cute.
Warm thougths and prayers to those in need and wishes for a great weekend to One & All! To those in the winter storm’s path take extra care.
Glad you enjoyed your night out. I saw them in concert several years ago and the energy they projected in there music is still very vivid to me. Have a relaxing weekend!
