Hugs and Kisses for Paper Players #721 and a chance to win blog candy

Happy Sunday.

It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's Clean and Simple – with a twist – week.  I have some new stencils that I bought at scrapbook.com as part of my Christmas presents and this theme was a great excuse to ink them up!  I used the LDRS Hugs and Kisses Postage Collage Layering Stencils for my card and used them with a die from Alexandra Renke that you have seen me use multiple times.

Here's a sneak peek:

And here is our challenge for this week:

To keep the card looking somewhat clean and simple, I kept the colors to a minimum.  Pink and turquoise with little touches of grey.  I love that each of the elements has heart shapes on them.  I added a sentiment with silver embossing powder.

Here's my card:

I hope you will join us and play along with our clean and simple challenge this week.  We would love to see what YOU create.  In the meantime, the talented design team have some fabulous inspiraiton for you:

On a personal note:

Well…. I am having trouble getting the right set up for taking photos.  With the winter sun my craft room is drenched in sun and causes major shadows.  So, I apologize for the fact that the cards look cream/off-white when they are really on white card stock.  I'm hoping to get the chance to play around with different ideas for better photography later this week.

Whilst we were packing to move, I found some crafting supplies that I had and haven't used.  So, I thought that I should start the new year with a few give-away opportunities.

Today's blog candy is a fabulous little set from Alexandra Renke called JUST FOR YOU.  I've used this sentiment set often on my cards and love the size of the sentiments.  Some of them are perfect for those tight little spaces.  As I have an extra one, this is the blog candy for this week.

Here's what the brand new – in it's packet set looks like:

I will close comments on Sunday 1st of February and use a random number generator to choose the winner.  I'll be back later in the week.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. As wonderful as ever, Jaydee! Those softly stencilled colours are gorgeous while the dies never fail to impress. Have a lovely week. 🙂

  2. Darling stenciled images on the postage die, Jaydee, especially that little balloon. And the sentiment font is yummy!
I feel your pain about taking photos. I never have good natural light for taking photos in this house, so I ended up with a photo box and upgraded my phone/camera. But it took a lot of trial and error, and that maybe more than you want to do since you have beautiful photos the rest of the year. I wish you luck!

  3. What a pretty card! The softness of the stenciling is just right and I love anything postage-related! Hmmm, what would I want for Valentine’s day? Dinner out? NOT on the day, way too crowded! DH always gives me wonderful cards, so I could be happy with that. And craft supplies are always welcome, too, as you said! ♥

  4. Oh, Jaydee! This is one of my favorite dies. The little stencils work so perfectly in the “stamps”. Oh my gosh…I hear you about getting the colors right on photos. I have the most difficult time with it. I have my best luck going outside. However, with the temperatures we are having now, I will be using my light tent again. We don’t do Valentine’s Day. Whenever my friends talk about the gifts their husbands give them, it makes me a little sad. But I console myself that flowers fade and chocolates are not on my diet. In a perfect world, I would like a Chai Latte and just time to stamp! Thank you for the great challenge this week. I LOVED it!

  5. I just love this postage challenge! Those stencils are just perfect for this challenge! For Valentine’s I would love a card and dinner out. My Sweetie is not romantic, but I can except the fact that he is a good man. I try to think of it as just another day! Have the best weekend!
