Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday night.
Well, back to my clean and simple style tonight. I really love trying something new – like last night – but every time I get drawn back to my CAS card making. I don't know about you, but clean and simple doesn't refer to how long it can take me to compose and create a CAS card. Sometimes, I find the initial creation period for a CAS card – anything but simple! Easy to recreate after I am completed, but getting there can be quite a journey!
Y'all know that I "found" the Medallion background stamp very late…. err like MONTHS after everyone else. Well, I am still finding that I am loving it! I used the cleanandsimplestamping layout again. You can see my pink card using the same layout RIGHT HERE.
For this card, I went an entirely different color route, used the Medallion background stamp and couldn't help but color a few pearls!
I loved using the progression of wam colors for this. The gradation of pearl colors to match appeals to my little putzy heart. I know, Brenda. I can hear you!!! 🙂
Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
- Card stock: Whisper White, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, More Mustard, Cajun Craze
- Inks: Cajun Craze (sentiment), Versamark for the Medallion
- Sentiment: Get Well Soon – Communique Curves, Papertrey
- Accessories: Basic Pearls colored with Copic markers. Stampin' Dimensionals – the focal image is raised on dimensionals
So, what do you think? I can tell you that I'm loving this layout. Loving the Medallion stamp and love using monochromatic color schemes!
On a personal note:
Beverly….. man… I vote that I should retire, too! Now, if only I could find the winning lottery numbers, that might become a reality :-) Robin, loved your comment about case-in my cards… it's wonderful when I hear that someone has done that!
My heart and prayers go out to those in Queensland who are now starting to feel the effects of Cyclone Yasi. Yasi hit landfall last night with winds up to 300 kph. I cannot fathom what that must have been like. Especially on top of the dreadful floods the area has already seen.
I hope my blog readers in the mid-west and on the east coast were spared spending the night on the roads in the middle of yesterday's snow storm. I know many of my colleagues on the east coast are digging out of nearly 2 feet of snow. Mother Nature has certainly shown us her wrath this year.
Also in my prayers tonight: Rose, Maria – so glad you got your parcel :-), Adelle, Germaine. Warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift today.
Have a wonderful Thursday everyone. I hope you all get to spend some time tomorrow doing the things you love, with those you love the most.
Before I leave you, I wanted to share a little pic with you…. This was Sunday afternoon. Lou was exhausted after his 28 hour trip back home on Saturday, so took a little nap. A couple of the cats decided it would be a cool thing to keep him warm! You will notice the little striped dog door stop…. he was on the bed at the hotel that we stayed in during our trip to the UK in late October. I loved it so much that the hotel sent one out to us. I love the saying on the dog bone…. errr… pity the grammar isn't correct! But it's the imperfection that makes it all the more adorable :-) How approrpiate that it arrived whilst they were all cuddled up and fast asleep on the new chaise! The post man rang the doorbell, I talked with him, opened the box… and no-one on the chaise even woke up! Oh, yeah… I blocked out Lou's face, cos, seriously, no-one looks at their best when they are fast asleep!
Hugs
Jaydee

Amen! There is nothing more difficult than getting a CAS card going, lol! You nailed it with this one. I may have mentioned I have a bit of a ROY G BIV OCD? It applies to gradation as well, so this card makes my poor little heart sing–especially those pearls. :happy sigh: :o)
I’m LOVIN’ that photo of Lou and the puddies. :o) Brien was looking over my shoulder and asked, “Who’s the poor guy being smothered by cats?” Hee hee!
The little doggy is adorable–the unfortunate grammar notwithstanding. What’re you gonna do? ;oP
My prayers for those in Australia–Category 5. Wow. We have been hit with a Cat 2 and it was terrifying. I can’t imagine.
Prayers also for those in the snow and ice, and for those who need healing.
Hugs!
Very creative, Jaydee! I love the color gradient! Of course, the pearls are the perfect touch!
I’ve seen many versions of this layout in the last day or two, and I love them all. So simple, but effective, and what a great way to use up scraps. Your addition of the pearls makes this one very elegant. The picture of Lou brought a smile to my face and reminded me of napping with my daughter’s Maltese snoozing on my stomach.
LOVE the card Jaydee, and the colours you used, the coloured pearls set the card of beautifully!
Oh my goodness, how could Lou sleep with all that heat radiating off the cats, the one closest to Lou’s face couldn’t get much closer!! Reminds of when I sometimes take a quick afternoon nap, Mickey lies along side me with his head on my shoulder! Not too nice when he sneezes! Poor chap has had an allergy since we got him, too much sitting in the garden gives him the sneezes and watery eyes!!
Well the blow in Queensland is still happening although the cyclone is now downgraded to a cat. 1. It is heading inland and still wreaking some havok. I hope and pray friends of mine in South Mission Beach are ok. The cyclone crossed the coast at Mission Beach. There are still big storm surges happenin. Also with all the rain, one town might have to be evacuated due to the river breaking its banks and causing major flooding. Queensland has had a very torrid time of it lately.

Beautiful card with vibrant colors. Lou’s picture is priceless. I know the kitties missed him!
Hey ~ *love* the pic w/ the cats…and I’m one of those who is not a cat fan (sorry). Can you pls direct me to the post about the flight attendant you’re collecting cards for. I wasn’t paying attention at the time…it wasnt the right time for me to make cards…now it is.
And when do we get to see pics of you stamp table? I need to upgrade from my coke cases…lol
Thx, Robin K
You have found yet another way to make the Medallion look amazing. I might have to get my stamp out tonight and CASE this one. Crazy how many things are happening with the weather around the world. I’ve been cooped up at home working for the past 3 days now due to the ice. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm. Hugs and prayers to all!
The more I see of your medallion stamp, the more I love it. The color gradations were beautiful. Another lovely card!
Prayers for all of you who are suffering with weather. We have had 3 glorious days of sunshine and temps in the 60’s. Perfect weather to do all that yard work! Can’t wait for some time in the garden.
Love the picture and the card! I really think you have convinced me to order the medallion stamp!
Hey Robin, so glad to hear that you are crafting again! That’s great news! Here’s the link to the post about Robin the Sky Angel http://www.jaydeestamping.com/weblog/2010/12/case-jaydee-for-blog-candy-button-button-from-the-new-occasions-mini.html
If you have some cards to send along – that will be wonderful! You know that there are troops out there that will be very grateful!
big hugs

Yet another great card. Thanks for sharing with all of us. Lotto? I don’t even play, so fat chance of that one happening to us. I can’t wait for my order to arrive today….my Medallion stamp is in there! Woot toot! As I said in email, cute pix of Lou and the pussy’s!
Have a great weekend!
OMG that is the “bestest” picture!
