Because I Care – Paper Players # 31 – Ann’s Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone.

Happy Saturday night.

For tonight's card I used the fabulous sketch provided by Ann and the fresh and pretty color scheme from the design team across at colorthrowdown.

I am so sorry I didn't get to blog last night.  It was another long day at work yesterday.  Started at 6am and finished at 5.30.  Then… and this is the exciting part!  Lou and I had to set up my new crafting desk!  Oh! Yeah!  It took forever to get it down stairs – its pretty heavy.  Mind you, I think it took longer to unpack the thing!  The legs of the table arrived yesterday afternoon, so it was all systems go for setting up.  Then, we had to go buy a stool.  Consequently, we finished setting up, doing everything we needed to do, etc. at around 9pm.  Then we had to have dinner!  Lou really wanted to get everything ready for me before he left this morning.  It's going to take me a little while to get it all re-arranged and get used to everything in its new place.  Once everything is sorted, I'll take some before and after pics for you.

For the Paper Players challenge this week, Ann created a sketch for us.  It's a very versatile sketch.  Each of the Players did something entirely different with it.  I veered ever so slightly from the sketch, so I hope Ann will forgive me.  I took the element that was on the left of the sketch and actually placed it on the focal point.  I couldn't get the element on the right to work with this stamp set, so I decided to leave it off.  I decided I'm going to do another card with the sketch this week, too.

The color scheme of Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake is a combination made in heaven!  It really is gorgeous!

Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

Now, it's over to you.  All you need to do is create a new project using this sketch, load it to your blog or social media page and provide a link back to the players challenge site.

Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

  • Card stock:  Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake
  • Inks: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz markers, Early Espresso classic ink for the sentiment
  • Stamp set:  Because I Care (level 1 hostess set – 120118 clear, 118384 (wood)
  • Accessories:  Pear Pizzazz seam binding robbon, (122330) Basic Pearls, In Colors DSP (level 1 hostess set 121028), Framed Tulips Embossing Folder (121809)

So, what do you think?  I think the color combo is great.  I love the sketch.  I am loving the new tulip embossing folder and, I am really pleased I got the Because I Care hostess set.  I was really unsure about it when I first saw it, but I really enjoy using it.

On a personal note:

It's back to work for me now.  I need to get a report done by tomorrow.  I had to give up on a girls night with the fabulous Brenda and Cherie tonight.  It has been a whirlwind of a week, but I guess that is always the case when you are the new girl on the block!

Prayers tonight for Rose, Adelle, Vickie, Maria and Germaine.

I hope you all have a wonderful, fun-filled Sunday, with time spent doing the things you love – with those you love the most.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. I’m loving the tulips embossing folder also. I was at my SU demonstrator’s open house today and made a card with it. We sponged the tulips with some ink to make them ‘pop’ and it really set off the other elements which were all inside the border.

  2. Love all aspects of your card,Jaydee. I do have this set and quite like it. We do not have the embossing folder available here yet, but it will come I am sure! Am still running around like a crazy woman doing this and that! Hubby is back to work tomorrow, his 6 weeks break went super fast. Will now have a catch up on the rest of your lovely cards since the last time I had a few spare minutes! Jan x

  3. Hi Jaydee! I, too, love those colors! They are gorgeous together! So soft and feminine to me! Unfortunately, I do NOT have this stamp set but this awesome creation makes me want it that’s for sure! Thank you for sharing another beautiful card with us!
Congratulations on your new desk! I can’t wait til you post some pictures of it! That’s so sweet of Lou wanting to get it up before he left! You have a sweet hubby!
Prayers and huge hugs to all in need!

  4. Oh my! This one is exquisite! Your work is always so lovely. Glad you got your new table set up – looking forward to those photos.

  5. Oh how I LOVE that color combination! It’s so soft and yet, bold. I think it’s the almost complimentary colors with the Pear Pizazz and Blushing Bride–they are subtle, yet they contrast beautifully.
And, you card, ahhhhhh. It’s just beautiful. I too was uncertain of the stamp set when I received it, but I really do love it.
I’m so happy your desk arrived and that you and Lou were able to get it set up before he left. How fun to be able to sit with your stamping goodies and reorganize! I need to get into my space and declutter quite a bit–I hoard DSP and need to donate some to a worthy cause (my mom and MIL!).
It stinks you weren’t able to have a girls’ night. Poo. :o( But, great friends are ALWAYS there and there will be other nights. :o)
    Hugs and prayers to all!

  6. So glad to hear you have legs to craft on! (sorry, been waiting for days to use that one!!)
This card is so springy, just what we need on another sub zero day. I keep looking at the tulip folder, it’s a must have now.
Missed you last night, but will get another date on the calendar soon. Have a fantastic Sunday. Oh, and can I please say this jsut once…Go Pack Go!

  7. Another CAS beauty Jaydee! Glad you got the new craft table all set up! Can’t wait to see photos. Have a good day working…hope you get some stamping time in.
