Don’t try this at home and UPS is a big tease!

Hi Everyone.  Happy Thursday night.

Quick post for you tonight.  I started work at 6am this morning, had lunch – whilst on a conference call at 3.30pm and stopped work at 8.00!  Consequently, I am pretty shot!

I did want to share a card with you tonight.  I bought a non-SU set – A Beautiful Life from Gina K.  I loved the look of it, I love the sentiments, but seriously, only I would insist on using an exacto knife to cut around the inside of the frame and the flowers – and then on coloring it!  Aaargh!  After all that effort, I am still not sure what I thought about the card.  On top of that – I used the color challenge from colorthrowdown and missed the challenge deadline!  The colors… yep… my favorite pinks and blues!  However, I did the challenge, I used colors I don't normally use – so that was a good thing

If my day wasn't interesting enough… guess what UPS did to me. Yep, they came tramping up the garden path with a humongous box, rang the doorbell, left the box.  Yippeee… my desk has arrived early.  Huh?  What's the problem here.  The big teases delivered just the top of the crafting desk and not the legs.  Are you kidding me.  Seriously.  How can you do that!  what am I supposed to do with it, put it up on bricks!  Sigh.  I really was all excited thinking it had arrived a day earlier than planned.  Oh, well!  At least I have something to look forward to tomorrow – the rest of my desk arriving!

Now… on to tonight's card.  I warn you, do not try this exacto-knifing at home :-)  Especially, when I am really not sure it was worth the effort!  I do love the sentiment though.  It's from Papertrey Ink's Signature Greetings.

The colors are, of course, Melon Mambo, Marina Mist and Early Espresso.  The color challenge asked for Soft Sky, but I didn;t have that, so substituted with what I had.

Warm thoughts and prayers tonight for Rose, Mary Jo, who is recovering from her operation, Maria, Vickie, Germaine, Pri and Adelle.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone

Hugs

Jaydee

  2. Oh, you poor dear! I am doing a lot better, still have not ventured out of the house. Love your card, and yes, I do love the sentiment too! I hope the desk legs get delivered soon!! Have a nice day! PRAYERS to all and lots of hugs always! G

  3. You crack me up! Love your stories and don’t know how you think of all that you say. Love the card, but I wouldn’t be good at the knife, may table would be saying *ouch* Hope your legs arrived today! Have a great weekend!

  4. The card is lovely as usual. You are so brave to use the knife, I stay away from those dangerous toys because I usually get cut.
Do hope the rest of your desk comes today that is so frustrating. Stay cool.

  5. You know what? I LIKE the cutting. I know it was hard, but it looks good. :o) I do so love those colors together. :o)
I had something similar to the UPS thing happen yesterday. I was waiting for my new iPhone to be delivered (I had a very “old” one–two years!–and it had finally conked out on me) by FedEx. I looked out the window, there was a FedEx van! It stopped! The delivery person got out! They got a package! They…went to the neighbor’s house. Drat!
But, when it finally *did* arrive, I had all of it, I didn’t have to wait for more parts to arrive. Darn those UPS folks. :o( I hope it arrives today so you can decompress from a VERY long week.
Hugs to you and to all and prayers, as always, for those in need.

  6. Another pretty card from the hands of Jaydee! I love the way the flowers seem to pop out of the page. Great color combination too!
I hope you get the rest of your desk and can get it together over the weekend!

  7. Another beautiful card! LOVE the flowers and the colors – just gorgeous.
Hope you got the rest of your desk today and all is going good.
