Happy Sunday.
It's the first of our 2025 challenges across at the Paper Players and Elizabeth has a fabulous bright and cheerful color challenge for us. The colors were perfect for a set I had sitting on my desk and I had fun with some stencils and embossing! I used the Cosmos Bunch set that I got on sale with my Pinkfresh Studio gift certificate I got for Christmas from Lou.
Here's a sneak peek:
And here are the colors from Elizabeth's challenge:

It's a fairly dull day here in Minnesota, so these colors were a bright shot of sunshine! I stamped the image with versamark and heat set it with white embossing powder. I used the matching stencils to color the images and the matching dies to cut out the image. I used one of the frames that I got from the Pinkfresh Studio online event I attended to add a little interest to the card. It had the cut out corners, so I took my scissors and cut out the corners of the card base to match.
I mounted the frame with foam tape and did the same with the flowers. Here's my card:
I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week. We would love to see what you create with these colors. As always, the design team have some wonderful inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, I had intended to show you some photos of our Christmas decor but, watching the news and seeing the complete and utter devastation in California, I just couldn't do it. I think not only of the loss of memories, property, life and dreams, but also of the animals – pets and wildlife – that would have been killed in these fires. Once again Mother Nature has proven that she does not differentiate based on status, wealth, race, gender, sexual preference or political affiliations. Lou and I had the pleasure of living in Southern California for nearly two years. We have driven up the Pacific Coast Highway on multiple occasions and to see the devastation unfold leaves me speechless. My heart goes out to all those affected and I hope that my Southern Cal readers, their friends, and families are safe – or stay safe as the fires continue their devastation.
Hugs
Jaydee

Although born in the Northeast, my family moved to SoCal. I was 2 at the time. We moved back to the Northeast when I was 15. We lived in and around the San Fernando Valley and the San Bernadino Valley areas. I remember seeing fires in the mountains, looking out the window above sink, while washing dishes. It hurts to see the devastation of all those neighborhoods. We moved a lot so, some of those neighborhoods, we lived in, now they’re gone. Pray for all those people and pray they can find their faith and strength to recover, when these fires are finally extinguished.
Jaydee…gorgeous florals for a cold January! Love em.
A beautiful card. Interesting how the colors go together as I would not have thought it. I too lived in CA and am heartbroken at the devestation.
Those florals seem like they were made just for this color combo under your skillful stenciling Jaydee! Love how you framed them and then snipped the card base corners, it looks beautiful as a shaped card.
I never lived in Cali but spent many a vacation traveling there from Oregon and the devastation is beyond words. I know there have been similarly devastating fires in other parts of the state and in Southern Oregon but certainly not to this scope and not in a major city. It is terribly sad and frightening to see that happen.
The floral bouquet is just beautiful. I love that you’ve softened the colours, yet they remain cheering and warm. That frame is wonderful and not only adds interest but WOW. Popping up the frame and flowers has given the whole thing not only a physical but a metaphorical lift. I love this card Jaydee. What a great start to the year at PP!
Jaydee, this is a stunning card. You have started off 2025 with a bang for sure with this beauty! I love the softness of your palette! I agree, seeing the fires is heartbreaking!
Beautiful, Jaydee! This is a gorgeous floral image. I love how you embossed it in white, then exquisitely colored it in soft hues. Your placement of it overlapping the frame adds so much interest. My thoughts and prayers are definitely with everyone affected by the tragic wildfires in California. The losses are devastating…
Jaydee these florals are so fresh and pretty – a real breath of spring colour and a lovely way to start the year. The stencilling is so effective – it looks almost watercoloured. I’ve never been to California but the horror of the fires is truly devasting for those impacted.
Jaydee, I agree with you. The fires and destruction in CA have really touched me. Hard to celebrate happy moments with so much saddness.
Your card is beyond beautiful! I love the colors you selected and the frame adds so much texture. You certainly made these colors shine!
