Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday night.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed your time spent with friends and family. Lou and I had a quiet day at home and just chilled. It was wonderful. The fact that our house is finally nice and warm helped, too! 🙂
On to tonight's card. The challenge?
Before Trish died, she asked me to let you all know what I used for inspiration. Many times I don't have one, but in this case I do! Whilst Lou and I were on the ship, I took some photographs of a glass wall that was in the Observation Lounge at the front of the ship It was really rather gorgeous. I used this as my inspiration. Here's the picture of the window. I loved the reflective quality – and the berries and the butterflies. It really looked as though someone had embossed it.
Here's my card:
When I saw the window on the ship, it really reminded me of the Pretty Petals background stamp. I used Metallic Silver card stock and white embossing powder for the image from Pretty Petals. I realized that the stamp had little butterflies and tiny little berries on it. A perfect fit for my inspiration window.
I used my Beautiful Wings Bigz Die to cut out the butterfly and then my En Francais background stamp and silver embossing powder to stamp the script onto the butterfly. I loved the embossed butterfly with the embossed background.
Card recipe:
- Card stock: Metallic Silver, Whisper White
- Stamps: Pretty Petals background stamp; En Francais background stamp
- Accessories: Basic Pearls – colored grey; Basic Rhinestones; Basic Grey satin ribbon
- Tools: Versamark, White embossing powder, Silver embossing powder, Beautiful Wings Bigz Die, Big Shot, Stampin' Dimensionals; Heat Gun
Card instructions:
- Cut Silver metallic card stock to A2 11 x 5 1/2. Score and fold at the top
- Cut Whisper White card stock to 5 1/4 x 4 and adhere to card base
- Cut silver metallic card stock to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 (you are going to trim this).
- Ink up Pretty Petals background stamp with Versamark – stamp onto silver base. Apply white embossing powder and heat set. Once dry, cut this layer to 3 3/4 x 5
- Wrap ribbon horizontall and vertically and stick to back of this layer. Apply this layer to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals
- Cut butterfly out of Whisper White card stock using Bigz Die.
- Ink up En Francais background stamp with Versamark and stamp over the butterfly. Apply silver embossing powder and heat set with heat gun. Apply to card base by gluing the middle of the butterfly.
- Add pearls and rhinestones.
- Decorate inside and you are done

Now…. it's your turn. We would love to see your new creations using wet embossing. Don't forget, you are welcome to use ANY BRAND of stamps, you are not limited to SU only!
On a personal note:
Yesterday we spent a errrr… hmmmm. "little" time helping the economy! We have been saving to change out our furniture in the upstairs family room and Pottery Barn were having a floor sample sale. With deals we couldn't resist. One of these days we are going to get the carpets replaced. We want to put down wooden floors, so we will be waiting a little while longer for that. Until we have saved some more pennies.
We did get a couple of other great bargains yesterday, too. I needed a couple of tops for work for an upcoming meeting. My best bargain of the day? A blouse I found at Saks Off Fifth. The original price? $565.00 – yep that is five hundred and sixty five dollars. Does anyone really pay that much money for a blouse, seriously? Anyway, what did I pay? $42.00 – yep that would be forty-two dollars. I'm guessing that we weren't the only ones helping the economy along this weekend.
What was your best bargain of the weekend? I love hearing what bargains people get, so why not leave me a comment and let us know.
Prayers tonight for: Germaine. For Rose as she continues her radiation therapy. For Arthur as he continues his recovery. For Beth and her family. For those of you who need a little lift.
Happy Scorpio birthdays to Adelle, Brenda, Missy and Rach! I hope you all had fabulous birthdays!
I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday.
Don't forget – smile at a stranger. It may change their life.
Hugs
Jaydee

Computer time has been limited due to having family here plus lots to do after the death of a loved one. I appreciate the prayers, they help tremendously.
This card is so beautiful! Love the details and the inspiration too!
I love bargains too, I did not get anything quite as astounding as your deal though Jaydee!
That card is absolutely gorgeous Jaydee! I love butterflies!
So sorry for your loss Beth!
Prayers & hugs to all in need!
Beth may the memories last a life time for your lost loved one…so sorry to hear this.
Jaydee, that card is really pretty and love it. Will have to send you a picture of the one I will make (now don’t count on that being today, for I am on my way to Cincinnati for Thanks with my family) As for the bargins. I got a Cricut Gypsy for $75 bucks, YES I said $75. Error with register and clerk did not go back and change. I got storage for my room for $13ish…yes regular $30 and oh my roomba sweeper!
Have a great day everyone!
Beautiful card, Jaydee! I love the bling. As for bargains…this is the first time in years that I did not fight the Black Friday crowds. However, I did take the Twins to the pet store to buy their first coats! Not a bargain…but a fun purchase, anyway. Because of their big Boxer chests, we bought a style that looks very similar to a horse blanket that fastens at the front of their chests, and then there is a strap around their tummy! They look so cute!
Beautiful embossing Jaydee. The color scheme is so elegant and serene and I love the glimpse at your inspiration.
Jaydee, your card is gorgeous! I love how you used the inspiration from that beautiful window on the ship. Just lovely! I love your challenge this week! Embossing is such a great technique to add interest to any card. 🙂
On a side note, you got an AMAZING deal on your blouse! Wow! That is more then 90% off! I was excited to get a cute top from Ann Taylor for $19.99 with free shipping from $89.00. I have to check out Saks Off Fifth. There is one about 10 minutes from my house. Glad you had a great weekend relaxing and helping out the economy! With deals like that how can you not??
