Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday night to you all – or Happy Hump Day – whichever you prefer! It's also my 300th post. I cannot believe it I cannot believe that I have been posting for almost a year. I cannot thank you enough for all your support, your friendship, your comments, your support of each other. It really is the ONLY reason that I have continued to do this so regularly for so many posts.
I have spent a lot of time over these 300 posts reading your comments, your emails and getting to know this little community of the most amazing people. It still astounds me what an inspiring, creative, compassionate, supportive group of people you are – and I am ever so grateful that you found my little blog of musings.
To celebrate my 300th posting – and as an excuse to share a little love with you all – I will be doing a drawing for the chance to win 1 of 2 SU stamp sets. So, leave a comment over the next 3 nights and you will be automatically placed into the drawing All you have to do is what comes naturally to you!:-)
Mmmm… I was going to entitle this post…. WHY I HATE GERMAINE. I mean, really, really, really, really, really hate Germaine. Well, I love her – but I hate her. (grin) So, what did poor Germaine do, I can hear you ask? WELL… let me tell you… all you have to do is go read her comment on my post yesterday where I said I wanted George Clooney to deliver my next SU order…. Well… here is a part of her comment – Cherie….. you can close your eyes for this part….. I'm surprised you and Brenda didn't hear my scream this morning!
"Oh Jaydee, you make me laugh, I love to read your blog and see you cards….. I had a chance to meet George Clooney, when they were shooting the movie Syriana – The hotel has an apt block attached to it, where my friend lives, so we got pictures taken with him, man he is handsome and has great legs…so I could have told him to get to you soon!!…… Germaine"
S H E M E T G E O R G E- T H E- M O S T-H A N D S O M E-M A N-O N-E A R T H- CLOONEY! I was so jealous it even managed to take my mind off the new catty :-) Germaine, next time I'm in England I'm coming to see you just so that you can show me the picture and I can drool :-) You lucky girl! My regular visitors may know that I have just a little pass crush on Georgie. 🙂
So… where was I …. oh…yes… I think you came here looking for a card. 🙂
The CAS challenge on splitcoaststampers this week, was to create a clean and simple card that evokes summer. I don't have many summer sets, but I sat and thought about using the shell stamp from the Nature's Nest set. I really wanted to use the Marina Mist card stock, however, because it isn't June 2nd yet, I don't have enough left! :-) However, I decided to go with Baja Breeze instead, and was very pleased I did. BTW… the two colors – Marina Mist and Baja Breeze are wonderful together!
I stamped the images in Close to Cocoa and then filled in the indents on the shells with Sahara Sand marker to give a little depth and shadow.
I punched out the shells with my 1 1/4" stamp and backed them with a 1 3/8" punched piece of Baja Breeze
For the fourth one, I used Versamark for the image to give it a water mark, and then the sentiment from the Blissful Bride set, which was stamped in Chocolate Chip.
I scored a line just under the focal points with my new scoring tool from Martha Stewart. Gotta tell you – I love it – much more so than my Scorpal and it's much cheaper, too!
I then wrapped a piece of caramel gingham ribbon that I got on the clearance rack around the card. Of course, what Oyster shell card would be complete without….well… .yes…. a PEARL!
The little squares have lots of shimmer when you see them in the light, because I smooched them with the Vanilla Smooch Spray.
I was really pleased with the finished product, but I must tell you. It isn't quite the way it was when I first finished it. I originally had a different sentiment – the a little something from the Matchbox Messages stamp. I thought the circle at the end of the 3 squares would look interesting. Well, it did, but not interesting in a good way! So, I went off and watched a little TV for a while and forgot about it. When I came back and re-looked at it, I realized what it needed.
On the personal front… other than my jealous hissy fit over Germaine this morning… did I tell you already I was jealous of Germaine :-) (love you, really Germaine!!!!), we managed to get quite a lot done. The basement is finished. The study is just about complete. The local library is 200 books better off. Yes, you read correctly. 200 hard cover books were donated to the library this afternoon. We aren't talking novels either. For years I have been collecting books on nature, travel, gardening, interior design, philosophy, religion, art, treasures around the world, history, architecture, archaelogy, books on the different cultures around the world and even Time Life series. Today, I decided it was time to let them go to a good home. I know the library will probably keep some of them, but they should be able to make money selling the rest. My books are precious to me and I lovingly said goodbye to every single one of them. I could remember, where I had purchased them, or who had given them to me as gifts. The shelves in the study and the basement now look a little like Old Mother Hubbard's cupboard!
More cleaning tomorrow, and hopefully a little bit of stamping. Also, coffee with my good friend Brenda. I'm really looking forward to that!
As I sign out – on my 300th post – I want to thank you all again. You really do make my day so much more rewarding. I cannot thank you enough.
Don't forget – leave a comment – two lucky readers will be getting SU stamp sets!
Trish….. you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. You really are amazing.
Hugs to you all
Jaydee

Trish & Germaine-still praying for you both!
Have you seen Tony when he goes a weekend without shaveing? My very own George look-alike! Happy 300th post! I have loved every single one of them!
Oh, Germaine, you lucky dog, you! George is one of those men who has only improved with age…:sigh:
Happy 300th post! Happy de-cluttering as well! We too are book-a-holics and the local thrift store is typically the beneficiary of our housekeeping.
The card is lovely. You are so utterly creative. :o)
Congratulations on your 300th. I’m like you, Missy, I often check before I go to bed, even if I don’t comment until morning. And, I also have to admit I come back a couple of times during the day to check out comments left by others. Isn’t funny how you can feel so connected to people that you’ve never met.
Jaydee, you continue to amaze me with your talent and your ability to share you life with all of us. I’m blessed to call you a friend. (And will happily join you in the I “hate” Germain club! I didn’t hear you scream but I did feel you pain) I’m looking forward to reading many many more posts. Hugs to you, Lou and the purrballs.
Trish & Germaine prayers are headed your way. And to One and All, thanks for you friendship. Have and awesome day.

Congratulations on the 300th post…I enjoy reading every one of them. Good for you, cleaning out and donating so many of your treasured books. That needs to be done around here too. Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win some blog candy.
Such a beautiful card. I love the colors-never thought of putting them together. What are your plans for this card? A party????
Congratulations on Spring Cleaning. It really does feel so good. I can hardly wait to clean the garage out next week. Nothing like planning a husband’s first week of vacation for him. It’s amazing what 4 adult children still have in in my garage. Everything is going out and then some it will be returned!
Congratulations on your blog. With cards like you make it’s no surprise!
SHE MET GEORGE??!! I don’t think you should speak to her for at least 10 minutes. ROTFL!
Congrats on your 300th post on your most amazing blog. And what a beautiful card to mark the occasion! I love it and I love your blog and all your cool followers.
Congrats on the 300th post! I am so glad that I discovered your blog and have the privilege of being a Jaydee fan!
You are so down to earth and your cards are so inspiring! Great combination! Some cards I see are so fussy it is overwheming. But with your posts I see that you can make clean and simple simply beautiful!
My DH and I are heading to our much awaited Smokey Mountain vacation tomorrow early morning, meeting our daughters and husbands there too! We will be in the mountains for a week and probably no internet-so I will have to play catch up when I get home! Thanks again Jaydee!
Congrats!!! Your card is soooo pretty, love EVERYTHING about it! Thanks for sharing 😉
Congrats on 300 posts. I will say I truly appreciate each and every one of them. You really are wonderful to take the time to show us your amazing talent. Love this card, especially the gingham ribbon!
Thanks for a chance to win. Your blog is by far the most interesting and wonderful card ideas daily. Thank you for all you do.
Doris D.
Congrats on your 300th post…and here’s to 300 more! Sweet card, too! Love the caramel ribbon! My UPS driver did stop by today…Arghhh! He didn’t look like George (or Sean Connery, either)!
Hi! I can’t believe you’re at 300 – given that you post almost every day, I would have thought from the quality of your work you’d been blogging for years – yes, you are THAT GOOD! You have THE BEST BLOG BY FAR that I visit.
I agree, anyone who has actually met George Clooney belongs on my “I hate” list too. he is (as my 10 year old daughter would say) “too dreamy… sigh”. if I ever met him I’d be awestruck and he’d think he’d met a crazy weirdo who couldn’t talk …
anyways, congratulations on 300 – look forward to the next 300! Hope you do something to celebrate!
A Great Big Happy 300th to You! I remember in one of my very first comments on your Blog, I stated that I loved your Clean Style of making cards and your Easy to Read Writing on your Blog. I don’t know if you can remember those comments or not, but I still do. I was getting tired of the messy go here and do this type of blog, yours was so straightforward and easy to follow. The Cards and Creativity were Spectacular, just as they are today. I wonder just how long ago that message was left, I should go back and check to see if I can find it. Keep up the fantastic work, I love it every day. Your Blog is my “Comfort Zone” to come and rest each day and take a break and get refreshed. I love that you are so giving of yourself that you allow all of us to interact with each other. That is very generous of you. We have become quite the little Family, and as such cares about one another deeply. I continue to thank everyone that Prays for me on a daily basis, it does give me renewed strength to keep going forward. I hope that we can all still be here to share the same excitement in your Next 300th Post! I hope everyone else is having as much fun here as I am. Sometimes I feel like I should be paying an admittance fee. lol Jaydee, you are one Special Blogger.
Cyber hugs, Trish in Wisconsin
Oh Ladies, sorry to make you all J of me, but it was a surprise to me too! the day I met George the most handsome man in the world – there is a joke in our house if there is no dinner in the evening!! Germaine has gone to see George!! hehe! At the time Chris use to travel a lot, I barely saw him if he came in on a flight in the morning he would be leaving the same night on another flight… but that week he was home, my friend called and said, come over to the Shangrilla Lobby, I want you to see someone you are crazy about, this was like 3pm and she wanted me to be there in 10 mins… I said I could not as Chris was home and had to make dinner and she would have to say who I will see! and she said you all know who!! so there was no dinner for Chris, and I got home that evening around 10pm, as we had to hang around for ages to actually get near him, on that day I also met Matt Damon and Tom Hanks… but my main reason was to see George! HAhahaha….
Sorry I have been away from the computer – I have 840 messages to get through, as I have had a disaster with my hands, I burned them without realising that I was burning, as I cannot feel my finger tips and they are so, so painful. I dropped the dish on the rings and the electricity went off, and we had to wait for nearly 9 hours before we got someone in to get power back… it was good to have Chris at home!
I have also been told that my pain is due to inflammation of the nerves, and the problem with my hands is due to my breast tumour that was removed in 2006, which has caused scar tissue and damage to the main nerves – I am going in today to see a neurologist and also get an MRI on my hands – they are simply getting worse everyday!! Thank you to all the ladies for your prayers – I am keeping positive and Jaydee you make to laugh when I visit you/blog! I am so looking forward to posting on my blog too, and hoping I can stamp soon! Chris and my daughter has been a real help to me with my pain issues!! Some days are good and some bad, but life is good as I have so many people that love me and think of me and send me prayers! Trish, thinking of you and sending you loads of positive energy! Bye for now! Hugs always!
