Fifth Avenue Inspiration Card

Hi Everyone.  Happy Wednesday night.

This is going to be a quick post tonight.  My last work email was sent at 3.48 am this morning and I was back at my desk at 7.30.  Getting out of bed was really tough.  I turned over, switched off the alarm and went back to sleep.  Luckily Bailey decided he was hungry and woke me up at 7.15.  Otherwise, I know I would have still been sleeping at lunch time 🙂  So… cats are useful for some things 🙂

For tonight's card I used Fifth Avenue Floral.  Not a stamp set I use often – and I combined it with colors that I don't often use….. Pixie Pink and Orchid Opulence.

So… why did I use this set and colors I rarely use???  Good question.  I decided to participate in the splitcoaststampers inspiration challenge.  The inspiration was to find something on the thymes website.  Well, I love Thymes goodies – so it wasn't too hard to find something that inspired me.   I found this oolong cassis candle and the box and the flowers on the candle glass inspired me.

I wanted to keep it clean and simple – and this is another one of the cards that I made using this great layout.  You have seen me use it several times including my blooper card  and last night's chocolate happy birthday card.  The only difference on this card was that I created the central image smaller and left more white space.

Of course, I had to use shimmer white card stock.  I used the masking technique to stamp the flowers to make sure that I didn't stamp over them. I also went with the white narrow ribbon as I wanted to keep the focus on the flowers and the sentiment.

I hope you like it.  I was really happy with it.  the little mini half pearls in the center, really add that touch of specialness.

I heard from Trish's daughter today.  She continues to recover and will be in hospital until probably Saturday.  So we all continue to pray for her on this journey.

I'm off to go make some dinner and catch the last of the warmth of the day.  Today the temperature reached 75 degrees.  Oh boy!!! was it gorgeous! We haven't seen temperatures anything close to that since October.  The birds were singing and I could hear the trees and the plants begin to inhale the warmth of the air… 🙂

Have a fabulous Thursday everyone.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Well, I know exactly what you mean by cats waking you up!! I had 3 cats, lost one last year! and now have 2, and one of them is like a morning alarm clock!! Lovely card, TFS and hope you take some rest over the Easter period! Hugs always!

  2. Hi Jaydee
Love this card…. it is cheery!
You are working yourself to death girl!I had a guy that worked for me years ago. The man was always late. I said I thought you had a cat? He said he did. Then I asked him if the cat jumps on him in the morning? He said yes. I told him to let his cat be his alarm clock then. You know he was only late once after that. Those kitties know when we should be up!
So glad Trish is doing as well as can be. Thanks for keeping us updated!
It was 78 degrees here yesterday! WOOHOO! I am liking this a lot!

  3. Great card (I think I say that every time). I love the color combination and the touch of the 1/2 pearl after the sentiment. I hope you’re having a great day.

  4. I love this card and I also love that stamp set! The card is so simple-yet stunning! Keep up the stamping Jaydee-you inspire us all!
Hope you get some much needed rest!

  5. I have never really used this set. But now I know I need to pull it out. I love the combination of the white card stock and the bright colors. Also love those half pearls. They just finish it off. Hope you get some rest. Work is stressful, take care of yourself!

  6. Beautiful. I am amazed that you have time to create with a schedule like yours. I have this week off and I am enjoying my kids. Need to stamp so maybe I will find a little time this evening. Too gorgeous outside today to stay in the basement. Any thoughts on Saturday?
