Sparkling Birthday Cupcakes

Hi Everyone.  Happy Tuesday…. almost Wednesday… oh yeah!

Tonight's card uses The More the Merrier and I decided this was ideal for two different challenges.  Cleanandsimple#81which is a sketch challenge…. and the CAS challenge at SCS this week, which was to use a shape on a shape and still keep it CAS!

I pulled out my More the Merrier cupcakes stamp, my markers and my iridescent ice embossing powder.  I also used my Polka Dots embossing folder.  I had great fun coloring in the little cupcakes as you can see

I stamped the image in StazOn and then took my YoYo Yellow, Real Red and Regal Rose markers and started to color in the cupcakes.  Alternating yellow and pink layers.  I then used my Versamark pad all over the cupcakes and sprinkled them in iridescent ice.  I heat set them with my heat gun…. well… mmmm…. that was redundant I suppose… I mean.. I wouldn't have put them in the fridge to heat set them now would I?  Sometimes… I amaze even myself by stating the obvious!

So..here's the finished card

In fact, I made 5 different cards with this layout!  I used Rose Red for the base.  I ran Whisper White through my big shot with the polka dot folder and backed it on a strip of Summer Sun.

I mounted the cupcakes using snail and stamped "sweetest ever" in Black StazOn onto Summer Sun.

I hope you enjoyed seeing something clean and simple after the two more elaborate cards this week.

My new set arrives tomorrow… oh yeah…. a sneak preview for you.  I must tell you that I am really looking forward to using this new set and hope to have some samples for you in the next two days.

I hope you have a fabulous Wednesday. Im not likely to get into my stamping room tomorrow… sob. sob. sob.  sigh. sigh. sigh!

As always, thank you for visiting my blog.  Your visits, and your support, are much appreciated.

Remember… if you want the template for the clear mount stamp boxes… for those sets you are unmounting…. or if you don't have an SU demonstrator and would like the new mini once it is available…. send me an email.

Hugs

  1. This card is just stinkin cute! I love it! I love those colors together! They’re so bright and pretty!
I don’t know if you got my request for the new mini but I did send you a request by the “contact me” button. I also asked if I could get the template but I did it by commenting here! If there is a better way to e-mail you please let me know since I am so computer illiterate! LOL!

  2. How cute! The cupcakes look so good! I love the colors you chose. Isn’t it amazing how good the CAS cards look? Nice details on here keep it interesting!

  3. Great color combination. I also like that it is a flat card. All of those wonderful embellishments are great until you send a bunch out and have to pay an extra 20 cents per card because they are bumpy.

  4. YUM! What a fun card, I would have never thought to put Yo Yo Yellow, Summer Sun, Rose Red and Real Red all together on one card. But, you as always, make it look like a classic color combo, one we all should be using. I LOVE how you do that.
Enjoy your Wednesday, hope you get into you stamping space for a bit–it nothing else, to counteract this gray, gloomy, and rainy weather.

  5. Great card – love the cute cupcakes. How do you choose your colour combos? SOmetimes that takes me longer than anything else.
