Ever After – A perfect pair

Hi Everyone

Tonight's card features one… no, two… of my new sets – Ever After love this set!  and the new Tiny Tags set from the new Mini catalog.  I wasn't going to order the Tiny Tags… but I am so pleased that I did.  The minute I opened it up for this card… I was hooked!

I wanted to do a wedding card for a friend and I didn't want to use the usual white and cream that I have done before.  You can see my other wedding cards here.  I thought about it for a while… and the light bulb came on… to use Valentine colors!  Now, wasn't that original?  Yeah, right!

Ever After - Perfect Pair

Now, before I show you pictures of the inside… I have to tell you …. I LOVE THIS NEW SATIN RIBBON and I LOVE the new EPOXY brads!!  I admit it… I think you are going to be seeing much more of these!

Trish… I promised I would show you pictures of the inside when I could… so just for you 🙂

Sorry… the focus wasn't quite right… But I'll tell you how I created the inside – after I've talked about the front:

Card Recipe:

  • Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock
  • Ever After stamp set (113401)
  • Tiny Tags stamp set (118592) and Medium Jewelry Tag punch (117190)
  • Real Red Satin Ribbon (117286)  - did I tell you already that I luuuurv this ribbon 🙂
  • Real Red Epoxy brads (117270)
  • Inside of the card:
  • Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock
  • "may your Happily Ever After begin with a beautiful today sentiment" from the Ever After set (113401)
  • Love square stamp – from the Ever After set – except I cut around the L with a pair of paper snips to focus only on the L
  • Heart on the inside page – the new Scallop Heart Embosslit from the mini (117332)
  • The only thing that I did inside, which you probably can't see too well, was to stamp the heart image from the front page on the background red card stock in side.  I stamped it with Versamark to give it a watermark feel – but used it to tie the front page to the inside page.
  • All I had to do was assemble it – and tie the bow.  The bow was tied by hand, using the "bunny ears" method.  Because this ribbon is 5/8", I found that this was a perfect size bow for this ribbon.  It really is luxe and satiny and just gorgeous!
  • I stamped the "Mr & Mrs" sentiment from Tiny Tags onto Whisper White card stock and punched it using my Mini Jewelry punch
  • For the brad – I cut off the "legs" of the brad and then adhered about 4 mini glue dots underneath it.  I then slipped the tag underneath and secured it to the underside of the brad – and then stuck the brad and the label onto the middle of the ribbon.
  • I stamped the "to a perfect pair sentiment" from the Tiny Tags set (118091 – wood mount and 118592 clear mount) onto Whisper White card stock and punched it with my Modern Label Punch.  I then adhered it – lining it up to the Real Red Satin ribbon with dimensionals.
  • I then put dimensionals under the Heart and it's red matt and mounted it onto the card base over the satin ribbon.

I was REALLY pleased with it and love the look of the Red,White and Black – I think it's such an interesting combination for a wedding card – so I hope you like it, too.

Now, I'm off to go feed and medicate my poor kitties.  As for me, I still have internal and external bruising and 1 stitch that is driving me nuts!!!!  I swear if I could get my paper snips into my  and take it out… I would… but I'm guessing that wouldn't be a good thing! 🙂

Have a fabulous Friday everyone… I am really looking forward to this weekend.  Don't  forget – leave a comment – or a question – to be entered into the January Blog Candy Draw.  And…. please keep the people and friends and family of those in Haiti in your prayers tonight.

Jaydee

  1. I love these stamp sets(plus just about all of the others, you should see all of my sets..yiks).
But I really like front on your card. What a good idea!

  2. Oh my goodness! What an adorable card Jaydee! I Llove it! I’m sure whoever is getting it will love it too! TFS your awesome creativity again!

  3. Jaydee, that card is gorgeous and would have been perfect for my DD’s wedding 8 years ago. She had a White, red and black wedding. It was stunning. She wore white and carried red roses, the bridesmaids wore black satin strapless dresses and at the waist the skirt split and opened up to reveal white satin. Just beautiful. Here pictures all look so formal and lovely. If my scanner worked I would show you one. Sorry to hear that you are STILL having problems. I have been praying for you everyday. I even said a little prayer for your poor furball that had 2 teeth removed. I look at my Kitty and can’t imagine seeing her in pain. Can you call the Dentist and have that stitch taken care of before the weekend. I would hate to think of you going through the entire weekend being bothered by this. Thanks for the inside of the card, I love it! You put just as much work on the inside as you do on the outside. I am always curious what other people do on the insides of thier cards because they hardly ever show them. It would be neat to get some idea’s for insides also. Again, I think your card today is stunning and very appropriate for a wedding. You sure do come up with some great designs. Have a wonderful day.
