Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday night and welcome to Jaydee's SU stampin space. Today's card features the Stampin' Up! Autumn Days (115452). I decided to use the pine cones – but in a slightly different way…. I added some crystal effects to the cones to raise it from the paper and give it sheen and texture – without bling! It reminded me of pine cones covered in ice.
How I created the card:
- I wanted to use really earthy colors and choose Chocolate Chip textured card stock and placed it over a Garden Green base. I stamped the image on Whisper White using my Garden Green and Soft Suede markers. I then "kissed" the pine cones with Chocolate Chip marker to add some dimension.
- Once the image was stamped on the card stock, I used my Crystal Effects and smoothed some over the image and left it to dry.
- When I took the pic, I moved the image into the light so that you could really see the detailing on the pine cones and also the crystal effects.
- I stamped it twice… once on Very Vanilla and once one Whisper White. I tried them both – but decided I wanted the really crisp cool color of the WW rather than the more muted VV for this card as I wanted to continue the cold, icy theme! It looked good with the VV… but just not what I wanted this time around. I then backed the image on a white matt to give a crisp clean separation between the image and the Chocolate Chip base.
- I used textured card stock for the Chocolate Chip to add to the organic feel.
- The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes —my go to set… with 24 different stamps, it's hard not to find one suitable 🙂
Today has been a glorious day. I found the best place to get internet connection was in the outside courtyard. So I've been sitting here with little creepy crawlies of all colors and sizes take the opportunity to explore my screen. Id forgotten what it was like in Africa!
I will be putting up a card tomorrow – but won't have access to the internet again until Sunday. So, after Thursday, the next card upload is most likely to be Sunday. If I can get access, I'll update earlier.
