Season of Joy- Merry Moments

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday night and welcome to Jaydee's Stampin' Up! Stamping Spot!

Just 24 hours for you to qualify for the draw in the great blog candy!

Tonight's card is my submission for the Stamping411 challenge #119.  You really should go check out the amazing creations the divas have showcased on their blog – as well as the submissions for the challenge.  Additonally, you really should participate!  My card tonight uses the Season of Joy stamp set, mixed with the Merry Moments DSP.

Jaydee tips:

  • I used my Garden Green, Real Red and Crushed Curry marker pens to color the stamp.  Markers are the only way you can do this 🙂
  • I then decided to add some depth by changing out some of the elements.  On one of the poinsettia's, I stamped it again and then cut around it and popped it with a stampin' dimensional.  I did the same with the &.  I cut a tree from the Christmas Jingle border and popped that instead of the tree on the stamped image.  I replace the O in Joy with a red button tied with gold elastic cord.  and for the point on the exclamation mark, I replaced it with a red brad.
  • These details not only add dimension, but they also add interest and make it look as though it took a lot longer than the 15 minutes it took me to create.

It's a fabulous sketch challenge and open to such incredible interpretation.  I really encourage you to go check out the submissions… and play along… I find that everytime I do a challenge, it forces me to open my creative aperture.

I hope you have a fabulous Sunday and that you get time to do the things you love – with those that you love.  As for me, I'll be doing housework, washing… and hopefully get to spend some time in my stamping space.  It's been very cool here – down in the early 40s and raining in such a way that it reminded me of England.  Drizzle, drizzle and more drizzle.  It got down to 38 degrees this morning!  Did we sleep through fall, because it certainly feels like winter is definitely just around the corner.  After all… just a couple of degrees cooler this morning and it would have been snowing instead of raining!

Peace
Jaydee

  1. Hi Jaydee,
Sounds like Oregon and New York are in the same weather pattern. When I woke up this morning I half expected to see snow! Your fun card warmed me right up though with the bright colors and fun dimensional elements. I’ve been playing with this stamp and the markers but putting it on label sheets so I can cut or punch images and put them on packages and tags for the upcoming holiday season. And seeing your tree image popped up has me wondering if one of the tree’s from the Merry Details Holiday Mini Sizzlit die might fit over that part of the image. Hmmm…gotta run try that.
Happy Fall my friend even if it feels like winter! – Jean
