Lots of Bots – Happy Birthday PPA1

Hi Everyone!

Happy Friday Evening and welcome to jaydeestamping.
I am sooooooooooo glad it's Friday!
Today I decided to combine two challenges using Stampin Up's Lots of Bots.  The splitcoast stampers sketch challenge and stampinpretty's inaugural challenge paperpals ppa1.

The color challenge from paperpals was Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Chocolate Chip.  Love all the colors – but never used them together!  I liked the sketch so much that I did three different cards with it!
PPA1bots This is the second card you have seen with the Lots of Bots and I realized that I used Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo for that one, too.  What is it about those two colors that makes me use the Bots? 🙂
I decided to follow the "power of three".  (I did an interior design diploma years ago and remember that rule very well!!) So, three matts, three colors and three bots.
I stamped all the bots in chocolate Chip and used my markers to give the ones stamped directly on the matt a little color.  I then stamped the bot again in Chocolate Chip and gave him a little color with my markers.  I took my paper snips and cut around him and mounted him with Stampin' Dimensionals in the middle of the two.

I stamped the binary stamp on the left matt in Chocolate Chip and then took the nut and bolt stamp and inked it in Chocolate Chip and placed it above the bots.  The two vertical matts are Bermuda Bay card stock on Melon Mambo designer series paper.  I did the same with the horizontal matt, except I also added a piece of Chocolate Chip, to tie in the Chocolate Chip accents.

Doing this allowed me to put two of the bots into the background and highlight the one in white.  I then took my Uni-ball white pen and put dots on the eyes of all of the bots.  I liked the fact that it looks as though the two background bots are coming out of the darkness!  I used the sentiment from the bot and stamped it in Chocolate Chip.

Jaydee tip:  I know I've used this tip before, but for those of you who haven't seen this tip… I always use my Stamp-a-ma-jig.  It's the greatest tool to make sure that you place the stamps exactly where you want them.  It's especially useful for multiple images – and I find it an essential for placement of the sentiment.  I think of it as the best $13.28 I spent.  I use it every time I stamp!  Stamping the nut/bolt and sentiment stamps on the right, helps balance out the matts on the left.

On a personal note:  thank you to all of you who have sent me emails or left comments.  It's always very encouraging to know that people are visiting and that you find something you like.  I love to craft, it really does help keep me sane.  I work very long hours and I find that crafting provides me a way to unwind.  My blog has only really been live for a little over two weeks.  I've really enjoyed posting my updates every night and sharing my passion with you.  Thank you very much for your encouragement, your support in visiting my site, and for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  There are so many great sites out there, and I appreciate you visiting me.

Have a fabulous Friday night.  A new card tomorrow!
and before I give you the recipe…. I had to include this pic.  I'd finished taking my card pics in my light tent…. when I found something else in there.  Bailey decided it was a great place to settle down, but there was too much light, so helped himself by pulling down the corner of the backing sheet and covering himself with it!

  5. Fun card Jaydee! I’ve had a thing for robots since reading Issac Asimov not to mention the Lost in Space dude! Bailey’s lucky he gets to join you in the workroom. My little fur faces have been banned for any number of reasons not least include inky pawprints everywhere when careless Momma left the pads open on the desk top and turned her back 😀
I feel like your blogging sis as my own blog has been up two weeks today!
Though at least your’s has more in the way of cards posted. I’m still figuring my camera stuff out!
