Rainy Days for Paper Players #679

Happy Sunday and greetings from the Great Barrier Reef in Australia!

Well, considering the turquoise beaches, warm sunshine and almost cloudless sky here on the Great Barrier Reef, it seems a little odd writing a blog post about rainy days!  However, that is the theme from the fabulous Claire this week.

I used a VERY old set to crate this card.  It's one that Lou got for free in a British card making magazine that he bought on sale at an airport kiosk somewhere he had been visiting in the world.  I honestly can't remember where anymore.  However, it's one of those sets that has always made the cut every time I do a clean out – and I've done MANY over the years!

Here's a sneak peek:

Here's Claire's challenge:

I began by die-cutting the three frames for the images from a die from My Favorite Things.  I then stamped each image individually, colored them, and then put them onto the card base.  I had used the tripe frames as a reference point and marked where they should go and then popped up the frame and placed it down on top of the images.  I stamped the sentiment – and added that – and the card was ready!

RAINPP

You know, considering I never used to make mini slimlines, I am loving them for so many stamps.  I'm not a fan of the larger slimline – but I do love the minis!   Here's my full card:

There is still something I miss about being in the rain.  It's that feeling of the world renewing itself and I love the smell of the air – and grass – after a good rainfall.  Oh yeah, and I know I've said this before, but I will say it again, if I didn't think the neighbors would have me carted off… I'd go jump in puddles in polka dot wellies 🙂

The team have created some fabulous inspiration for you.  I hope you will visit their blogs and give them a little  blog love – oh, and then come back and play along with our challenge!

On a personal note:

Lou and I got to meet up when my ship docked at Freemantle on the 17th February and spend 10 days visiting the daughters – and new grand-daughter!!!   There is something about 6 month old babies – they are just so darned cute and I swear they change by the hour.  We were with them for 5 days and it was amazing how much difference we say in her in just those 5 days.  It was a very special time.  Lou and I then went off to a wonderful hotel in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales for three nights for complete and utter rest and relaxation.  It was then off to the hustle and bustle of Sydney to visit the other daughter and her brand new house.  We had wonderful meals, vegan/vegetarian, of course! – lots of great conversation and lots of memories made across the 10 days.  Both the girls have found themselves with men who support and adore them and appreciate their unique and individual natures.  You cannot ask for more than that – happiness for the kids 🙂

I rejoined the ship in Sydney and Lou flew home.  I have the next two days at sea before we reach the port of Darwin in the Northern Territories part of Australia.  So, I will be doing a travel update for you with photos and stories.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
