Happy Wednesday.
I have a quick post for you today. I managed to play in my craft room this week and decided to play along with the Altenew August challenge and the Cupcake Inspirations challenge with my new Altenew Card Kit for August called Sweet Harvest. I’ve already made two totally different cards with this set and will share the other one tomorrow. For today I used the apples from the set and watercolored them.
I began by stamping the apple image onto cold pressed watercolor cardstock and letting it thoroughly dry. Once the ink was dry, I took out my watercolor paints and began to add the greens to the leaves and the apples, being careful not to have two areas that I was workiing on close to each other. Once I was finished I let the whole thing dry. I needed to give a little separation between the card base and the fruit, and thought that the addition of a little pink would achieve that. I then added a few splatters and mounted the apples to the card base and added a sentiment.
This set is from the Altenew Card Kit for September that was released to kit members a little early. I love how big and bold the apples are and how they take up the whole card.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another card from this set using a totally different image. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
