Renke Poppy for Festive Friday #00146

Happy Friday.

It’s another challenge across at Festive Friday this week.  Festive Friday is a bi-weekly cardmaking and crafting challenge inspired by holidays or festivities from around the world. It’s also home to the INSPO list.  A list of crafting techniques, colors, etc. designed to inspire you and to be used on your card or crafting project.  You don’t have to follow the holiday, all you need to do is use at least three of the things from our INSPO list on your project.

This week is very dear to my heart and my card is dedicated to all of those who served their country in times of war.  During my genealogical research over the last 20 years, I have found more members of my family than I could ever have imagined served their country and many who paid the ultimate price.  My card today uses a fabulous CAS die from Alexandra Renke called Poppy and it was also the perfect excuse to bring out my favorite stencil from The Greetery called Knit Wits.

Here’s a sneak peek:

I just love those little hearts from the Knit Wit stencil 🙂

Here’s our INSPO list for this challenge:

For my card I used Poppy, Gratitude, Red, Black, Clean and Simple

My card came together really easily.  All I did was die-cut the poppy pieces, stencil the background and add a sentiment!  Here’s my card:

As I wanted to keep the card clean and simple, I removed the individual poppy petals and just left the negative space.  I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week.  We would love to see what you are inspired by.

As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you and you can see that at our Festive Friday website, or their individual sites.

I’ll be back on Sunday with my Paper Players challenge.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

  1. That poppy die is just fabulous Jaydee and makes for a beautiful contemporary card. Your genealogical tracing activity was the subject of discussion at our Sunday dinner table this week – I was trying to encourage my MIL with hers too and i used you as a role model!
