Happy Saturday.
It’s the fabulous Vicky’s turn to host our Addicted to CAS Challenge and she has a great code word for us. The minute I saw this code word I knew exactly what die I was going to use. I used the jumbo fern die from The Greetery.
I die cut the fern with 110# paper and then blended greens and browns to add a depth of color. One of the things I miss about our old house is watching the garden come to life in summer. The row of ferns at the edge of our property were one of the first things to break free of the clutches of winter and would always be one of the first to turn into their autumn coat in fall. They would go these shades of dark green and brown as they started their winter sleep. So, those are the colors that inspired me for this card.
I decided the leaf needed some grounding, so used a Stampin’ Up! embossing folder to add texture. I adhered the leaf, leaving some parts unglued and put the whole thing on a base of Neenah White 110# card stock.
Here’s my card:

I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week. We would love to see what you create. I’ll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
