Happy Thursday.
It’s another challenge across at Just Us Girls and I get to guest design again! This week the challenge is MOODBOARD and when I saw the moodboard I was inspired by the colors in the photo, the framed painting, the desk and the candle. Luckily a new set had just arrived in my craft room (still not quite sure how that happened 🙂 ) Looking at it, the stamp and stencil set had many of the same elements. So, I inked up the new Illuminated Scenes set from Altenew for the challenge.
Here’s a sneak peek:

Oh, and here’s the MOODBOARD:

And a closer look at the photo:

I loved the yellows, oranges, cold and warm greys in the photo. I also love the distressed feel of it. But, I just couldn’t replicate the scene with any of the stamps that I had.
I did create a frame for the scene using the new Altenew Illuminated Scenes die. It comes with a die and an embossing folder so that you can either use it alone, or create this frame effect.
For the scene itself, I stamped it onto some Spellbinders Fog cardstock and then heat set the image with clear embossing powder. I used the stencils to create the illuminated scene trying to bring in the colors from the moodboard photo.
Here’s my full card:

As always, the talented design team have some fabulous inspiration for you. We would love you to play along with our challenge and see what inspires you with our moodboard.
I’ll be back with another card tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Your Illuminated Scenes set is a perfect choice for making your inspired-by selections from the mood board. Your colours and images make for a lovely, inviting scene; I want to craft in that cozy (and organized) room. Again, so wonderful to have you guest designing for us.

Jaydee… I can’t imagine a better crafter card. ABSOLUTELY love it! You might have sold this set. This is why I serve on design teams. I am sooo inspired by my teammates. Just brilliant Jaydee.
Thanks, Elizabeth. I must admit, when I first saw this set I thought mmmmm… maybe not. But, I then relooked at it and realized that it was pretty special – and unusual. Oh, and I agree about being on DTs – some great inspiration and enablement going on 🙂

Oh Jaydee you have created such depth picking up on so many colourful features. What a fabulous set that just ‘happened’ to fall into your craft room. It’s a STUNNER!
Thanks, Ina. You know, I just don’t know how these things suddenly appear in my craft room :-). I think they come through some magical portal 🙂
