Happy Sunday.
It’s the fabulous Claire’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s sketch week. I used this sketch to create a card using the Reach for the Stars and It’s in the Stars stamp sets from Staampin’ Up! I also added a little peak into the super cool DSP called Stargazing. I have many more cards coming that feature this set. A couple of weeks ago, when I received a newbox of goodies, I was determined to force myself to make 10 or more cards with each set before it got put onto my shelves.
Oh, and here’s Claire’s sketch!
When I loaded my card onto this blog post I looked at it and thought… in retrospect, you really shouldn’t have added the silver embossing for the It’s in the Stars background. I think it would have been better with clear embossing powder. That would have added some shine and just a hint of the background instead. I used silver as I didn’t have any clear…. oh, well!
I stamped the background and heat set it with silver embossing powder. I stamped and die-cut the astronaut and popped him – or her – off the card base where I had placed a couple of strips of the fabulous DSP.

On a personal note:
Well, I don’t know about you, but we desperately need some rain. Minnesota has a short growing season the farmer’s have seen almost no rain. We had been warned of some storms this weekend, but so far, nothing more than a dribble. I see some clouds moving in so hopefully we will still get some rain today. Either way, we will be using our balcony!
I’ll be back tomorrow with another card using this same set. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

What a fun card, Jaydee! This will definitely bring a smile to any kid’s face…young or old! This paper is gorgeous. I LOVE your idea of making ten cards with a set before you put it on the shelf. I definitely need to do this. I look forward to your next creation with this set. We were lucky and got a little rain here in SE Iowa, but we certainly need a lot more. Have a wonderful week!
Jaydee, this card is OUT of THIS WORLD!!!!!! I love every detail. The spectacular background and that fabulous astronaut are perfect! That shiny silver sentiment is perfect and those planets just pop off the background. YOU certainly made my sketch shine this week, My Friend! Praying for rain for MN, We have had a lot of rain in GA.
I like the silver embossed background, Jaydee. And the strips with the brightly colored planets are a great combination with the black and silver background. Great card!
Jaydee, this is super-fun! I though that the astronaut set was out of my orbit, but I think you just convinced me to give it a 3-2-1….GO! I love the bright pop of color. Such a cute card!
What a cool card! There is so much to look at…the stars, the DSP, the astronaut, the embossing…it’s all definitely out of this world!

This is one fabulous card Jaydee – I can think of so many kids that would love it!! I have to disagree about the silver starry background though – I love the way it is full-on shiny! I can’t wait to see your other cards with this suite; I have the papers but didn’t think I ‘needed’ the bundle – I’ve a feeling you might just change my mind! This card is most definitely out of this world!
