Spellbinders Jump for Joy for Paper Players Challenge #755

Happy Sunday.

It’s the fabulous LeAnne’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s color week. Now, these three colors are not my favorite colors, but that’s why I love doing color challenges – to push me out of my comfort zone! For my card I pulled out a die set from Spellbinders called Jump for Joy and made a clean and simple card!

Here’s a sneak peek – here’s looking at you kid 🙂

Look at those little eyes and that fabulous cone flower 🙂

Oh and here are LeAnne’s colors:

I managed to incorporate all three colors into my design and added black and brown as my neutrals. For the lily pad, I die-cut a piece of watercolor paper and dipped it into some brown and green inks. I needed the color to be a little darker than the two hero colors, lagoon and seafoam.

I then used soft seafoam and lemon lolly as the colors for my flower and did the same for the base of the frog. I added some lagoon to the darker area of the frogs.

I used a Waffle Flower stencil called, appropriately enough – Sea Foam! I adhered all the elements and popped the flower up on foam squares. The sentiment was the final touch and comes from a Waffle Flower set called Jump for Joy Sentiments.

Here’s my full card:

I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge. We would love to see what YOU create.

As always the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

  1. Jaydee, I am infatuated with this toad! There is only one thing cuter on this card than his eyes – the fact he is holding a flower in his mouth! LOVE it! The stenciled water is the perfect backdrop for his lilypad perch. You can’t beat cards that make a person smile. Have a wonderful week!

  2. Jaydee, this is just fantastic! You made these colors shine. Your little toad is so cute and his flower made me smile. Your background and lily pad are perfect to showoff this toad-a-ly awesome fellow!

  3. Looks like this adorable toad is about to be somebody’s prince! You bring a lady flowers, you make her happy — and this card just makes me smile

  4. I would never have thought you disliked these colours Jaydee – your sweet frog prince really makes them shine! Another fab stencilled background (you are so good at these!) and I love the blended colour on your various diecuts. Such a fab card!
